Forums - Sony - You won't be able to play your games if Sony shuts down their servers ( PSplus)

these are the games we get as part of the plus service, it is a extended rental service that is of extremley high value there is no hiding that or anyone denying it, on xbox one, you would lose all your bought games. Not comparable at all.

If I go out and buy Knack for PS4, will I still be able to play the game if the servers are down for a Week?

If I go out and buy Ryse for One, will I still be able to play the game if the servers are down for a Week?

Been using STEAM day 1, Sept 12, 2003, Digital Only Games.

Works just fine, still have the games I purchased 10 years ago.

Shit after a few months they let me add physical copies of games I purchased.

This is so sad they are grasping at every draw in jar to make Sony seem as bad as MS.

Pretty much this.

Desperation can make people do pretty pathetic things.

Which straw would you like to grasp upon?

Okay, look, i know the OP is peeved because MS has been absolutely slated this week, but please at least think before you post. Stop doing this "must come up with something, anything to make myself feel better about the whole situation".

Firstly PS+ games that you get free, are subscription based games, so if they were to switch it off, your subscription would end, and therefore, there isnt really a problem, because these games you play are effectively rentals.

If you purchase any games via the PS+ system, you download them and play them. You can play them offline, because they dont rely on PS+. If PS+ was switched off, as long as they still have download servers you could download and install and play them.

The issue here is that *ALL* MS games are reliant on the network, while Sony isnt. simple...

Hes just angry because MS copied PSN Plus and gave him a four year old game. Sony showing MS how to give premium online gaming value without locking consumers out of the major experience of owning their console. :)

That is exactly why i didnt sign up to PS+. And if i do with the PS4 i will only be using the free games as demos because im sure im not gonna keep paying for it for all my life.

But as some people point out, its nothing like what microsoft is trying to do. They are free and they can be played offline. I just dont know for how long. It might be you can play them forever aslong as you dont reconnect to the PSN.

Really bad and flawed counter argument. Funny read though.
