Nah...those are 360 DVD9's. Never had an issue like that...you really would have to mess with your Blu Ray for anything majorly bad to happen. My Gamestop manager doesn't really ever have to check Blu Rays when he takes them in. Its the Xbox discs and older gen console discs that he has to look at for major scratches, burns, warps and other things.

I'm not getting into this topic but ALL media deteriorates over time, Bluray is no different.  Unless you keep your games in a air sealed UV protected safe they will deteriorate eventually.  This is a bonkers reason to not want physical media though.

Those of you who try to defend MS / Xbone using erroneous (perhaps deliberately) arguments are just making MS look worse because you can't actually find good arguments to support what MS is doing.

I mean sure...if you want to come at your Blu Ray with a blow torch, worst case scenario. LOL All consoles are up to date now and using Blu Ray so, there shouldnt really be much of an issue and trading games on the merit of the quality of disc that you're using.

Uhm, you can still play your games single played and use all the other functions of the console, it's just playing online that will become impossible. What's your point?
PSplus is nothing like the One's dictator style restrictions, this coming from a man who doesn't even and never have played his consoles online.
Cannot be compared, if MS removes the servers, the whole console becomes useless.

No you're just hateful towards ps4.. Single mode doesn't require any internet connection. Plus, why would servers go down ? :D
An other point if we look at : IF it your internet provider has issues for a couple days, you won't be playing neither single or multiple mode on Xbone.

so you're saying xbone is a subscription service,.. just like ps+ and netflix.

I've spent £10,000 on a special airtight container for my Blue Ray disks, which should keep them playable for 1000 years... which is really useful if i want to go back and play them in the distant future... just hoping someone invents a youth pill or it will be a total waste of money!

Seriously though, for expensive games I buy on disk, and upto £20 i mostly buy on internet/dl... it's just easier that way. I have no concerns at all about this. But i do have a problem with the thought that my disks would be rendered unplayable by MS if they decided they wanted to switch off the service... however unlikely it is that could happen. And that is where the problem stems, most of the issues with MS are probably not a problem in the next 5-10 years, but people dont want the stress or hassle. It's one of the reasons why i buy so many GOG.com games.. because i dont want to pay for something that might not work in the future..even if that future is way way way in the future. I still like to play Amiga/Spectrum games... so it's important to me.

Not only is it wild speculation that isn't even likely to be true, that particular situation wouldn't even be that bad. The games you obtain through PS Plus aren't paid for, and will still be available to purchase and will be playable well after the next generation has come along.

After treating my Saturn games the way I do, only for them to still work, I'm guessing "eventually" is a very long time.
