Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Surprises Witcher Dev, Skips Poland At Launch

Sony skips Japan at the supposed worldwide launch, should the Japanese be angry? This is not a thing to have against MS, it's not like it's an Xbone exclusive.

Now let's go back to bashing MS for things that do make sense.

Poor Poland. M$ only cares about Amurica and ALL THE BIG EUROPEAN COUNTRIES, guys!

whos turf is Poland? Sony M$ or Nintendo?

From what I've gathered, it's largely a bit of a wasteland. You have a relatively poor population combined with higher than US prices with the exception of retail PC games. Piracy is fairly common, and many games are simply never physically brought into the country. At this point, the first company that manages to introduce digital games for a low price, even lower than Steam's, will likely be victorious.

38 million people, 22nd country in the world for GDP ahead of Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Ireland. Poor wasteland indeed.

What about GDP PPP?

Because China has a high GDP but is 87th and Poland is 52nd in GDP PPP, all those countries listed are significantly higher than Poland.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

going by the logic of some people i've seen here poland must be populated by sony fanboys

I'm guessing they don't have TV agreements in Poland or in all of the other countries they are not launching in.

It's gonna be hilarious when microsoft pours tons of $ into getting all these xbone live servers up, & then no one goes out and buys the console. If i were micro, i'd start scaling back my plans right about now, they're gonna be in for a very tough ride.

Aren't they just using the Windows Azure infrastructure?

I meant wasteland in the market sense, in the same way China is "barren" for American and Japanese consoles.

As for the poor part, sure the GDP is fairly high, but per capita it is actually not that great. It's no Africa, but it's lower than that of the UK, France, Germany Scandanavia, the Low Countries, and even Greece.

I in no way meant to imply that Poland is literally Mongolia.

so, they can play the witcher 3 on ps4 at release? i really doubt that...or do we still talk about the moment when this game releases? when did microsoft say exactly that xbox one will never release in other countries as in those it releases at launch?

it's the same with iphones, they also release earlier in germany and france as in poland or lithuania...

Not Russia, Brazil and Mexico. Perhaps the 64% internet penetration is the reason. (Still more then double the total internet users then Denmark for example) Anyway why is Australia not on the list while New Zealand is? Weird list.
