Forums - Microsoft - What happens if your XBone or Account gets banned/suspended from Live?

Considering you won't be able to connect to Live, would you lose the ability to play all your purchased games?

RichardHutnik's thread made me think of this and I wonder if anyone asked this to MS yet.

If your bone is banned then no, if your account is banned, then yes. You could buy another bone and play your games. If you dont want to agree to their terms of service you will lose all your games(like steam). Why you would get banned is another thing, people only get account banned from 360 for big time messups. Just another reason I hate "content liscensing".

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

could you please talk a little more rubbish? There are still parts of this forums where you have not spread FUD yet.

MS NEVER bans people for playing games early when a retailer breaks a streetdate. I played every freaking Halo, Gears, Fable and basically every other game I preorder early. I know the retailer and we play online together. If you are playing online (early) MS checks if your copy is pirated illegally. If you did, you are banned. If your copy is legit - have fun.

They said this dozens of times.

And no, when you are banned (which is a REEEAAAALLLLYYY small part of the users) you can still connect online to check in. You can still play your games. You are just banned from the XBL Gold service, so no multiplayer and no apps for you.

Okay, I made a mistake about people getting banned for going online with early copies (Although it HAS happend!). As for the rest of it, I am going by what I read on their official ToS. I saw it and figured this was a legitimate question that could spark some forum activity and doesn't need responses like yours.

Spreading FUD? Please, show me where.

Want to make one hell of an accusation, be ready to back it up pal.

I don't feel sympathetic to people that get banned. If someone gets banned that's all on them because they obviously did something to deserve it.

LOL! Really? Cant you be banned for being abusive if nough people report you... Should they be banned? Yes. Should they lose their ability to play games? No...

Yes, mistakes happen. I do feel bad him/her, but at least they unbanned his console. The thing is 99% of the time those that get banned got what was coming to them.

People get banned just for obtaining an early copy (Store breaking street dates) of a title and going online.

Even so, if you are found to be cheating online, they should not be able to take all of your games away from you.

I seriously hope this is a question that gets asked.

Thanks for the back up, but I understand I wasn't 100% accurate about the broken street dates situation. I just know that I have seen situations where it happened and thought it was a common occurence.

I have no issues admitting when I am wrong. I only have an issue when people make outrageous accusations about me. I haven't been here for ~6 years with no bans due to just my good looks.

If he stands by what he said, then he will respond. Until then I prefer to just leave things as is and allow the thread to continue.

On XBL when you are found to be cheating online you never get banned from XBL, you get banned from the game you were cheating at.

Well, then they need to update their information because this is what it says on their site.

"Service suspension

Service suspensions are imposed because of inappropriate gameplay or system abuse. Inappropriate conduct includes these kinds of actions:

Inappropriate in-game behavior (scamming or cheating)

Attempts to manipulate Xbox LIVE services through network interference, feedback abuse, complaint abuse, or other system tampering

A service suspension completely blocks a member from being able to sign in to the Xbox LIVE service. The duration of the suspension depends on the frequency or severity of the offense. Temporary suspensions usually end at approximately the same time of day as when the suspension was issued."

You only need to connect online to the Xbox. Silver members can still get online, download demos, buy games, etc. If they get banned from Live I'm sure they'll just be treated like a Silver member and can't play online multiplayer.

What if it is your account that they banned? When banned you cannot connect to your Live account.

Accounts don't get banned, only the consoles.
So if anything you might have a worthless console then (which again is still a big IF), but the games that are tied to your account are still there.

You will stop receiving pizza from Pizza Hut.
