Forums - Microsoft - Forza Motorsport 5: no night, no weather, no storefront, no auction house

Please... I'm just giving my opinion about that game... not get too upset.

The lack of day/night and weather in Forza 5 is big due fact that was one of the most requested feature from the Forza's fans in the surveys I read in specialized Forza's sites.

The AI part can be the definitive plus for the game if implemented correctly... I'm looking for that feature.

Now a personal opinion... I really hate how Turn 10 don't give the proper importance to wheel support... they created Forza series to play with controllers and not wheel... that's the biggest complain I have with the franchise and seems like Forza 5 will not change that... racing sims have to be best played with wheel and not controllers.

Now can hate me guys

To wheel-support: I only want fanatec in, everything else is for noobs.

To GT6, Forza is also an arcade-racer :)

I know you are joking but the most guys says Forza seems like Arcade due the fact that some driving assists can't be disable... never... you can't play like in pro racing cars without all assists... and some tracks are difference from real-life to make easy to the gamers... the weak wheel support is another complain from sim gamers.

There are things really good in Forza franchise (no... not Horizon please) but these little details about simulation upset the hardcore sims fans.

Hmm, sucks. But still the game looks great, though. Considering Forza5 runs at 60fps while DriveClub is only 30fps, the graphics are even better!

I'd have to disagree with you there pal.
I think Drive Club will be a better game/have better graphics, but only time will tell.

Just my opinion - not trashing you/trolling/hating etc.

Well, no problem with that - that's what forums are for! :)

Given that DriveClub will have "only" 30fps they can easily render more polygons on screen but still it doesn't look better to me.

If it is a better game, well... Given that Forza has a tradition of high ratings, DriveClub will have to deliver a lot of fun but I think it will be a good game, at least.

Forza 5 might get hit hard in the ratings though for not advancing the series in terms of features. Missing out on features included in games the gen before will not go lightly with critics.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Really? The old G27 is yet better than most Fanatec models (if not all)... Fanatec have great wheel models but there are a lot other equal or even better .

The Forza support to wheel is my biggest complain and not what models it supports (I hate that too but I can live if they do a really great support for one model).

Would be hard for them to push out so much ready for launch, so its understandable.

The game looks stunning, so as long as the racing itself is up to standards then there will be no problem with this... Just expect it to be on Forza 6

ahh I love weather effects and day/night cycles in racers. It just feels so cool to drive into the sunset xD

well there is sunset in Forza 4 but still that isn't quite "night"

I would think this could be built in and handled in the future using the cloud computing. It wouldn't be that difficult to create those abilities to be handled in the cloud after release. Always being connected would allow game developers to make major changes to games even after release. So if there is enough demand for it I wouldn't see why they couldn't build it in after release to be processed on the servers. But if it stays this way then it will be a disappointment.

The game still does look spectacular though and glad it and many are moving to 60 fps. It will make many games feel much more smooth.

All Forza games runs at 60fps... that is a requirement for racing sims.

I expected it to be in Forza 3 honestly. *insert pouty face*

No I am definitely not joking. Forza is a very great game, so is GT. But as a sim I think GT is superior - not just because of day-night and weather. The question is: is this a reason so it makes more fun? Forza, for example, introduced the rewind-mode for casuals. You can't lose with this :) You can even let the a.i. race for you. I also like GT but it is not available on 360 so I do my racing on Forza and have fun with it but I know GT is the better sim.
