This is kind of exciting. The timing in particular. With the 32gig white launched in Japan and e3 next week, it seems like something is up with the WiiU sku situation. A price drop would be wise, or a new bundle with WiiSportU for fall would be awesome. But they really just need to get rid of that 8gig, it's pointless.

My only issue with that console is firmware updates etc should have separate memory pool and not the one used for games etc

Reduce it to $150 and i'll pick one up.

Basically given the size of games and other stuff, the Basic model which could barely keep hold standard stuff was a horrible decision to begin with.

I don't really like to call for someone's job but whoever came up with that amount of size for the basic model's hard drive, obviously did so for financial reasons and knew nothing of hardware itself and should be fired. You can get away with that stuff on the portables but taking this route on consoles is shooting oneself in the foot in the modern console market.

Ditto.  They need to do something for getting people to buy their system and not provided proper games to play.

I think they can remove Nintendo Land from the Deluxe model, eliminate the 8GB model and sell white and black 32GB model for 300 dollars.

Pretty much agree with this and have been saying as much all along. The Basic was a huge mistake, there's no reason at all to buy one.

Heh my Fallout 3 savegame folder is bigger than that. :D
Still there could be patches that might add loads of data.

I saw the 150 quid sale on Amazon.co.uk, only reason why I didn't get that was due to the UK plug... stupid reason I know. Also not entirely sure if they can ship consoles to mainland Europe?!?
