Forums - Gaming - Are Sony fans worried about XB1's 15 exclusives?

Battle toads is the only thing from rare that I care about.  That's why I used it as an example, because it's the best exclusive microsoft could have for me with Xbox One, as the subject asks.

Of course not. But it's been like, six years without any news at all. Not a gameplay video or anything, not at all. At this rate, it will be The Last Guardian Forever.

The last we heard/saw anything from The Last Guardian was at TGS in 2010, about 2 and a half years ago.  Not sure where you got 6 years from :|

That's news to me! xDDDDDDDDDDDD

As long as they don't steal our JRPGs like they did in 2008, I'm fine.

Nobody "stole" anything. The JRPGs that came to the 360 in 2008 found its fanbase, and eventually made their way into the PS3.

That is a very interesting theory. So if they "found their fanbase", why did Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 have to be ported to PS3 exactly 1 year after? Why did the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia sell twice as much as the 360 version? Why did the PS3 version of FFXIII-2 sell four times as much as the 360 version? Why are most JRPGs exclusive to PS3, PSP, PSVita or 3DS? Why does the 360 sell a mere 300 units per week in Japan?

2008 was a clear agression towards the JRPG community and Microsoft will pay for that for eternity.

What kind of nonsense are you on about?

MS making a move to include more JRPGs in their catalogue of games is an aggression? They will pay for eternity? Shouldn't fans of those games be happy that MS tried to cater more to their tastes that year?

Wow......

Let's say the console is going to have the most diverse, innovative, and fun game library ever.

Would you really buy it? Would you really want to take gaming in that direction?

Now imagine the console having a worse-than-the-best game library.

Would you buy it?

Xbox 15 exclusives must include DLCs.

Then, how come Star Ocean 4 on 360 still sold more than on Ps3? And in Japan, the sales of the Ps3 version beated the 360 by a pretty small margin. How come Valkiria Chronicles (And I think the first White Knight Chronicles after the adjustments) is the only Ps3 exclusive JRPG that has managed to beat Lost Odyssey - the top 360 exclusive JRPG - in sales? Why do you bring 360 sales in Japan? What about The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery or Blue Dragon? Blue Dragon has sold more than Ni No Kuni, and, in fact, they both have sold the same units in Japan.

Yes, you can counter-attack with "Eternal Sonata did better on Ps3", but again, on a small scale. Yes, the Ps3 version of FFXIII-2 sold much better than the 360 version - so did Dragon's Dogma -, but if you're implying that 650k units (and probably undertracked) isn't good enough for a game of this kind, you're being delusional.

You can bring as much data as you want. 2008 was pretty great for JRPGs; and yes, 360 gamers did enjoy the JRPGs. There is a fanbase in this console, whether you want to accept it or not. I can't see agression when games sold pretty well.

In regards to JRPGs, I would love to see Microsoft create first-party titles aimed at Japanese gaming audiences, rather than paying for third-party exclusivity. Having a title be first-party would mean that it would never come out on a competing console, and it could create more Japanese fans of Microsoft Studios.  I imagine that would be much more costly than paying for exclusivity, but maybe that is one of the ways Microsoft can do better in that region.  Suffice it to say that I will be very impressed if a couple of those 15 exclusives are first-party, Japanese market-oriented titles.

I'm not sure what direction you're referring to, but yes, I would buy it. In fact, I already pre-ordered mine.

Ok, fine I guess.

It does tell me a bit about you as a person.
