LOL, I find it funny that you mention a lot of MS studios which were recently bought, or created and have not produced any games, and studios which produce crap.

Anyway, this is an impressive list of studios, but it's what the studio develops that counts. Sony has 14, 1st party studios which have produced games with scores of 80+, and 7 which have produced scores of 90+. Nintendo has 13 studios, 12 of which have produced games of 80+, 7 of which have produced games of 90+, MS has 20 studios, only 4 of which have produced games with 80+, and only a single developer which has produced games with 90+ scores.

----

So I'll take Nintendo's or Sony's 7 (each) extremely capable studios, over Microsofts 1. LOL

Really? You base you appreciation of a game based on how high it scored on metacritics? If I was like you, I wouldn't have got the chance to play the gems that are the Fable games.  A game franchise that never scored above 89, yet still managed to become one of my favourite game series.

Your view on this is shallow at best.

LOL, Fable 2 put me to sleep. No really, I was playing Fable 2 with my friends at 2 in the afternoon and I actually fell asleep playing it, and for a while too, my friends too over. I think that series get over-inflated scores as it is.

However you are right, different people will appreciate a good 8/10 or 7/10 game, I for instance love JRPG's, most don't get 9/10 or higher scores anymore.

Still I wouldn't count studios that only make shovelware, arcade games, or just crap. I wouldn't count what's left on the list..... I only eliminated 4 Microsoft studios...

---

Another thing to consider is the size of the studios, and the number of games they develop. Nintendo EAD for example can make a dozen games in a year, where something like Team ICO makes 1 game every 5 years.

Well I wanted to include both companies 1st party studios and I understand that Microsoft recently purchased some 1st-party studios hence the work-in-progress. The only studio that hasn't produced a game yet that I am excited for is Black Tusk and I'm only going on rumors. Their best studios are clearly 343 and Turn 10, while Lionhead seemingly has dropped off in production and Rare has rarely achieved a game above an 80 metacritic since Viva Piñata.

As far as the list goes for Sony they own studios with fairly good track records, the worst studios for them this generation would have been Zipper and BigBig probably for the best they were shutdown, SCE Liverpool even produced an 89, 87, 79 shame they were closed.

Overall though when it comes to 1st-party studios Sony and Nintendo have some quality studios while Microsofts younger studios are still growing. Hope I can expand the list by adding Nintendo and organizing it a bit, looks a tad sloppy because of all the work-in-progress studios are spread out rather than being at the bottom.

I agree, and to be fair 2nd party studios make a big influence too. A couple great examples are InSomniac (Resistance series) and GameFreak (Pokemon - Not 1st party).

Actually this was my point, thanks for backing me up

Naughty Dog has been loyal to Sony for the majority of my life and have been their first part for quite a while. Its just crazy what Jega is saying.

The main thing I said was that what if Microsoft were to approach naughty dog what who they do?

None of us know the answer to that question. It was just a thought.

Its not an option unless they leave Sony or Sony lets them go. Sony and Naughty Dog are a match made in Heaven. They are like Sonys Rare, except Sony doesn't piss them off when they make creative decisions like Nintendo did Rare.

sorry my bad

Most systems have close to that many exclusives in the first year.

360-Amped 3, Condemned, Ridge Racer 6, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Quake 4, PGR 3, Elder Scrolls 4, Gears of War, Advanced Warfighter

Wii-Wii Sports, Wii Play, Elebits, Super Monkey Ball, Excite Truck, Trauma Center, Raving Rabbits, Super Mario Galaxy, Red Steel, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, No More Heroes, Wii Fit

Wii U-NSMBU, Nintendo Land, ZombiU, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Lego City, Game & Wario, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3,Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Mario Kart U

PS3-Genji, Resistance, Motorstorm, Ridge Racer 7, Mobile Suit Gundum, Ratchet & Clank Future, Warhawk, Uncharted, Folklore, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Singstar

Im sure theres some Im missing. Also u have to consider some of those games could be casual centric Kinect games, XBLA games, some might just be plain awful and its possible a few could get delayed or cancelled. But who knows they might all be excellent games, im just saying theres no need to get worried when we know nothing about most of these games and the competitors have a good chance of meeting or exceding them.

Me not. I'm yet to see the E3 confirmation. Numbers never matter now.

Just remember, everything microsoft makes usually comes to the PC anyways. So those aren't really exclusives in the first place. However, I believe they will have some good third party exclusives. The whole reason they are risking the DRM backlash is because companies like EA and Activision are making some huge promises to them if they do.

Good point.

As a Nintendo fan, I can't imagine why I'd be worried about another console's exclusives. Naturally, I want to see Nintendo have more success than other companies, but more importantly, I want to see awesome games come out for whatever console they may be on. If Microsoft shows off some truly awesome stuff, I'll be happy and I'll start saving up for an XBox One.

20 first party exclusives in the works for the PS4's first year on the market, 12 of which are new IPs. This is probably why the Sony fans weren't worried about the 15/8 from Microsoft.
