Not really,  it seems pretty powerful to me. I still will buy the PS4 first, but, if they  really intend to have dozens of good exclusives, the XBO can be my secondary console.

FEES for USED games?? So you must now pay the initial cost of your used game, AND pay a fee. And say goodbye to renting, borrowing games from friends, etc. If this isn't the ultimate proof of how games have declined in quality.. Think about it. Why would companies discourage their games to be purchased used? Because they are unable to sell them at full price, meaning they're not GOOD enough to sell at full price.

The focus on the TV features and Kinect over the actual games.. Ugh. MS is pushing this machine not as a gaming console, but as an ENTERTAINMENT device that happens to play games.

Looks like I will finally be jumping ship to the Sony camp for my second console this time, after the Wii U of course.

It's not clear how widespread this will be on the PS4 as well.

I recommend going PC/Nintendo. It's what I've gotten by with during all these years. It by far gives the most variety, and the good old RTS games kicks ass. Try Minecraft!^^

There were some things I liked and others I disliked about the console.

Likes:
The ability to do multiple things at once was pretty cool. I did notice that you would watch a tv and browse the net but NOT play a game and browse the net (or at least I dont think so.
15 exclusives in 1st year - this is freaking amazing (I didnt know they had so many studios.

Dislikes:
Greater focus on multimedia and tv (they started showcasing the xbox with tv functionality, not gaming).
Focus on sports and american football (meh)
Not enough games shown.

I was a bit disappointed to be honest - I was expecting more. It seemed that they rushed through the presentation glossing over the hardware in order to meet the 1 hour show limit.

i think we've discovered the next threat to the video game market.... predatorial gaming. Ppl too stupid to realise how expensive it is in the long term are swept up by contracts like "$99 now and $120 a year plus $5 for extra features and more fees". because the gotta have halo.

What does that means?

You cannot go on holiday? leave the house? have friends, going out?

I might be wrong, but from what I understood, you'll probably have to validate a game online before you play at least once a day.

 

Edit: Now that I think about it, the ideal period should be about a month or so. That way people could still borrow/lend games from/to friends and still prevent selling and buying of used games.

How can we be pleased with what we saw ?

I mean :

- No gameplay
- 2 games announced
- No date, no price
- PR bullshit : "With Xbox One, you can... WATCH TV"

+ console/controller has a nice design

+ QB looks interesting

+ Ghosts looks better than expected

+ Speilberg meets Halo

+ Similer features to Share button

- Literally no games for half an hour (half the show)

- Few games shown, all were safe and expected (exc. QB)

- Very little Gameplay

- WAY too heavy focus on TV

- Kind of always online?

Actually quite proud of myself that I managed to stay awake during the whole thing. It was pretty much the exact same thing we have seen at the last 2 E3's. As for having to pay a fee to pay used games.. Wow...

My hype for the ps4 just went up dramatically after yesterday. Role on June 10th where we can see some serious next gen stuff. 4>1
