PS3 now 50k behind 360.

PSP is alive!

Vita and WiiU terrible. Is this the lowest week for WiiU?

Edit: yeah, lowest WiiU week so far.

Good to know that the numbers are more reliable now.

What is causing the PSP to still sell decent?

Can you import PSP games? If so, maybe all the support it is getting in japan?

Actually I think you can, I guess that makes a little sense because I haven't seen a solid release state side in quite a while.

PS3 is my least favorite console and probably always will be, but damn, the fact that it continues to sell despite the lack of new releases amazes me.. Do this many people still want a blu ray player?

I don't see how Luigi's Mansion sells so much. Bought the game, mainly to get my free downloadable Mario 3D Land, sold it right back weeks later ha.. The game is mediocre at best. Too slow paced and puzzley for my tastes.

Wii U is slowly starting to carve out its niche as the next Gamecube. (and Vita the next Gamegear haha). While I do believe the fall/winter releases like Smash, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, 3D Mario, etc will help somewhat, they can only do so much without third parties. Wii was able to sell on first parties alone because of the sheer strength of the games. They were phenomenons (phenomena?) I don't see a whole lot of Wii U games with that potential.

Bold: You know PS3 isn't selling based on its blu-ray capability. Buying a PS3 just for that would be idiotic, since there are cheaper blu-ray players out there. PS3 and 360 are both selling because of amazing game support to this day. The reason PS3 keeps selling more than the others though is that Sony is pretty much the only one of the big three that supports its systems with new games late in the generation and into next-generation AND they support areas outside of the major countries way more than the others.

The first year or two that was one of the main reasons for people to buy it. The fact that 360 can still manage close to 100 k with only 3rd party support the past year excluding Halo is a true testament in my eyes.

Probably, but he was talking about current sales. "Do this many people still want a ..."

I think you mean first party support there since you mention Halo. Well Halo is bigger than every Sony exclusive released last year combined, as some liked to tell us often. Sony didn't release their big guns in 2012, but they did in 2011 and are doing it in 2013. But yeah, 360 is definitely selling decently considering its age and first part support. Just nothing matches the long legs of Sony systems. That will be the final lesson of this generation. Hope people won't forget it when next gen "starts"

Lol, Yeah it would be nice to see someone other than Sony win a generation for once. Yeah I'm not counting the Wii apart of this gen although i do think PS3 can eventually pass the Wii.

Just look at PSP go in Europe. I'm glad to see the numbers reflect that. To be honest, I'm surprised. I know they released the street PSP over here, but I never see it in stores, only on websites. Still, the price is attractive and I'm in the UK rather than mainland Europe where I presume it's doing better.

Vita... not so hot at all. Will probably dip below 30k again soon. Soul Sacrifice hardware boost was short lived.

Wii-U... even worse. I wonder how low it'll drop before possibly Game & Wario is the next boost? (Unless I suppose Resident Evil does something).

Software wise, nothing to hot. Persona 4 Arena debuts pretty much at the roundabout figure every niche game does in my country (2-2.5k). Pretty abysmal for The Walking Dead, although it's not really a runaway hit over here like it is in the USA.

I forgot this was the week that Black Ops Declassified resurfaced. Oh Activision. If only you'd actually made a good game.

In the USA software, I'm finding Luigi AND Lego City's holds for 3DS really impressive. Good for them. Luigi certainly deserves it by the looks of reviews, at least. Surprisingly good week for Wii-U software too, especially considering the volume the hardware is selling at.

Soul Sacrifice... still in the chart and still in double figures. I'll take it...

lol Global SW is up before the rest.

impressed by Legocity 3DS
Luigis up in the chart how many weeks already?
Everybody understimated Luigi it seems :)

Actually the global software is wrong. Look at us chart. Luigi mansion should do over 80k this week. Japan had about 28-30k alone.

So, uh, where's Europe and Japan? :p

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

WiiU... Dude...

The big games just need to come now, because this is getting hard to watch. PSP twitched back to life it seems, and PS3 still holds on well. I think 3 weeks from now it officially becomes the number 2 of this gen, hard work finally paid off for Sony it seems. 3DS is good enough, but 3DS software is excellent! Luigi and LEGO City are holding at a perfect rate! New Super Mario Bros. 2 creeps back into the global top 10 as well.

what the heck happened in Europe for that PSP boost?

Hmmm... I guess EU and Japan SW nos. are missing from Global nos. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense.
