PS3 is my least favorite console and probably always will be, but damn, the fact that it continues to sell despite the lack of new releases amazes me.. Do this many people still want a blu ray player?

I don't see how Luigi's Mansion sells so much. Bought the game, mainly to get my free downloadable Mario 3D Land, sold it right back weeks later ha.. The game is mediocre at best. Too slow paced and puzzley for my tastes.

Wii U is slowly starting to carve out its niche as the next Gamecube. (and Vita the next Gamegear haha). While I do believe the fall/winter releases like Smash, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, 3D Mario, etc will help somewhat, they can only do so much without third parties. Wii was able to sell on first parties alone because of the sheer strength of the games. They were phenomenons (phenomena?) I don't see a whole lot of Wii U games with that potential.

Bold: You know PS3 isn't selling based on its blu-ray capability. Buying a PS3 just for that would be idiotic, since there are cheaper blu-ray players out there. PS3 and 360 are both selling because of amazing game support to this day. The reason PS3 keeps selling more than the others though is that Sony is pretty much the only one of the big three that supports its systems with new games late in the generation and into next-generation AND they support areas outside of the major countries way more than the others.

The first year or two that was one of the main reasons for people to buy it. The fact that 360 can still manage close to 100 k with only 3rd party support the past year excluding Halo is a true testament in my eyes.

Probably, but he was talking about current sales. "Do this many people still want a ..."

I think you mean first party support there since you mention Halo. Well Halo is bigger than every Sony exclusive released last year combined, as some liked to tell us often. Sony didn't release their big guns in 2012, but they did in 2011 and are doing it in 2013. But yeah, 360 is definitely selling decently considering its age and first part support. Just nothing matches the long legs of Sony systems. That will be the final lesson of this generation. Hope people won't forget it when next gen "starts"

Lol, Yeah it would be nice to see someone other than Sony win a generation for once. Yeah I'm not counting the Wii apart of this gen although i do think PS3 can eventually pass the Wii.
