Are there games with DLC on the wiiU?? Just asking for curiosity.

Yes a ton of games on Wii U have DLC. This is the only one to not match what everyoneelse is getting.

That's not really true though.

Black Ops 2
Mass Effect 3
Injustice
Need For Speed MW
Just Dance 4 (has only a fraction of the DLC songs)

They need to support their customers on every console

If they start building a reputation for not supporting the Wii U the next game that comes along will sell even less on the Wii U, self-fulfilling prophecy in action

Wii U owners will never embrace 3rd parties if they are let down at every turn, 3rd parties should build for the future

No trophies and achievements.

Now no DLC.

DOOM

I don't get this half-assed WiiU third party stuff. This kinda stuff just makes no sense. Mass Effect 3 and not the Trilogy makes absolutely no sense and this is curious as well. What's the major cost in getting a game on a system? Actually coding it! They did that and now they don't do the tiny DLC coding? Weird.

It might not be hard, but it is money.  Anything you do in business equates to money lost.  Time is a resource.  If you're paying your team to port over content then that's overhead cost, which must be measured against potential profit.  If there isn't an exceptable amount of profit potential then you simply don't waste your resources.  I don't know what the standard DLC buy rate is for fighting game content like this but I would hazard a guess that it's not all that high, and probably lower than average on Nintendo consoles.  The calculated rate of sale for this DLC on the Wii U might be relatively insignificant.

I know some people blame everything on a conspiracy, or publishers "hating" Nintendo, but most of the time it boils down to math.

Which I'm sure there are people who would buy the DLC. It's already been developed, and there will be people to buy it, so they should just port it. Maybe if there port it then more people would buy the game because they see that it's being supported, who knows.

What is the incentive for third parties to make Wii U versions if no one is going to buy it?

What is the incentive for Wii U owners to by third party software when they're paying the same price for an inferior experience?

Is the DLC free?

The balance patches are.

I already edited that out of my post, guess you got to it just before.

To be fair it could be the case that due to the low userbase and pay-per-patch system that they are just waiting to release all the DLC in one go at a later date to save money. Adding 4 DLC characters later for about 50k sounds better than individually at a cost of 200K if a patch is required each time.

Ok sorry then.

Something something install base something

Of course, what happens when they treat the PS4 and NextBox have low install bases but get treated well, third parties will have to come up with another excuse.
