Soul Sacrifice bomba as expected. Serves you right Sony, you should have made Gravity Daze 2 instead!

Wait, what? They made a new ip, which seems to have a great niche following. Sales sure are terrible, but it was a great move. Now the lack of marketing and the psvita's current condition is another thing. At this point, I'd be surprised if most stores even stocked the game. I'm sure a new Gravity Rush would have done just as bad, if not worse.

Whilst I disagree with what he's saying, Sony creating a niche IP isn't what the Vita needs right now. It needs something massive, and releasing a game in their more popular franchises which isn't an FPS rather than throwing out new IPs all the time would help the Vita no end. These "niche" games make the system more appealing for the very select few and does nothing for the long term success of the system.

Can you explain me what a niche game ,mean

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Is 2,2k good? I have no idea how big a part UK sales play in global success. I said in the SS thread that I would get the game when it's availbale through PS plus but I found a good offer and took the bait. Gotta support new IP.

It's actually hard to find a Vita game that opened lower in the UK.

NFSMW & Mortal Kombat were the only ones in the VGC top 20.

It's the third-least-niche game on the console in Japan.  And even though it probably didn't meet Sony's expectations there, that was still its primary purpose.  Japan.

I also personally agree with the majority of your post, but it's a vast turnaround from the opinion (not saying it was your opinion) about the console in general which seems to be "No-one wants to play home console games on handhelds; make handheld-exclusive experiences like Pokemon and Layton!"

Which of course, Sony are actually doing, in a roundabout way.

How can you know that Soul Sacrifice didn't meet Sony exception.

Oh no, in Japan it was certainly the right game at the right time, the sales speak for themselves there. But what I was more reffering to is that we need a game as big as Soul Sacrifice in Japan, in the West (as it were).

So if they get a game as big as Soul Sacrifice in the West with a price cut, it could do well. But I don't see anything along those lines on the horizon.

And "niche" is basically "a small audience", or demographic I suppose.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'm not one to jump on the "but it sold very well digitally" train, but in germany the game is 5€ cheaper digitally vs in store (34,99€ vs 39,99€). There's also a ton of people trying to get rid of PSN credit that they got through a promotion bla bla bla long story short, I bought it digitally for 19,99€.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I don`t know how Soul Sacrifice is a niche game and is any game witch sold  poor is automaticly a niche game?

No. Because I'm asking why the game is in the Full Price list? I'm not doubting the bargain price.
