I think it'll be on PS3 or Vita.
I'll like it if they move away from the High School scene for once. Maybe switch things up with College/University students this time.

I think it will be for the PS3, just a feeling
I really loved P4G; definitely cemented itself as one of my favorite games of all time; I don't think I ever laughed that hard at a game(mystery food X/ Hanako jumping on Yosuke's scooter/Kanji's bathing suit malfunction/ "King's Game"/stage performance/etc)
Im extremely excited, P4 is one of the best games ever made so i have really high hopes for P5. It will most likely be on PS3/Vita and maybe 360 considering that they went multi with Catherine. My guess is that it will have the same graphical style as Catherine and take place in a college setting, be set just outside Tokyo so you can spend your time in the countryside and the city. I also think just as some have potined out in this thread that it will have a theme set around social media and such.

Atlus loves PS3 and 3DS, the platforms that are relevant in Japan. I don't think they have a special preference for one company or the other. |
Yeah Atlus is very neutral, they don't pick one company over the other. Although they usually keep specific franchises on one brand or another. Persona has traditionally been on Sony consoles, where it's Atlus's biggest franchise, and it would be surprising for them to deviate with the built up fanbase already there. Also they do like the Vita, if you read Index corporation's financials they were surpised by higher than expected sales for P4G, resulting in upward revisions in profits for previous quarters last year. I would not be surprised at all if P5 ended up as a PS3+Vita game right from the start.

I woke up my friend and my step-brother at that part because I was roaring with laughter.
Ideal platform: PS Vita
Likely platform: PS3
Cry tears of bitterness platform: 3DS
I don't think they'll put it exclusively on the 3DS though, Persona seems to have quite a loyal following on Playstation and they have other SMT games to experiment with on other platforms.
Whoever mentioned a College / Uni setting has a good idea there. It sucks playing P4G when you're nearing the end of your school years. At least with a College / Uni setting I can tell myself that life will be that awesome when I go there myself (and end up being thoroughly disappointed).

I think that once Persona 5 comes out, we will get Persona 6 maybe in 2 years after the release because they will use the same engine. Persona 1 and 2 did this, then 6 years later Persona 3 and 4 did this. Now it could happen again and I am not complaining! hah

I dont really care. I want it made so I can play it and I will buy whatever system it comes out on if I do not have it right now.
Hell, I bought the Vita just for P4G (and Ive beaten the damn game 4 times on my PS2/PS3). Bought other games afterwards of course, but P4G is still the best game Ive played on my Vita.

I agree. and it would be nice for Vita-fans, if they get more Atlus-greatness. So it is good news to hear about the financial success of P4G.
Considering how Catherine and Persona 4: Arena were multiplatform, I wouldn't be surprised if P5 was multiplatform. I really loved having P4 on my Vita though and I don't think P5 needs to be a big graphical jump, so being able to play P5 on the bus or in bed with the Vita would be my ideal choice.
