Forums - Nintendo - Zelda Link to the Past 2 coming to 3DS!!

How many Zelda games is Nintendo working on!? There's the Wind Waker Remake, the new Wii U game, and now A Link To The Past II!? Wait, Zelda II showed up on Amazon a while back... is this what it was?

Awesome 2.5d Zelda. I'm not really digging the color scheme though.

Here's an interesting image:

It seems that LttP II took "same universe of LttP" quite literally. I'm definitely curious to see how this new game shapes up, and how much it will relate/differ to the original game.

I'll answer your question as long as you acknowledge the budget points I made.  3 years, that's what it would take with a team of 100.  Wii U version would take a team of 200 the same.  Guess what Nintendo has the money to do?  Hire a team of 100 and a team of 200.  A new 3D Zelda should have been in development since Ocarina of Time port finished production and 3D Zelda on the Wii U should have been in development as soon as they finalized the hardware 4 years ago.  Guess what they didn't do?  Put into production 3D Zelda for the 3DS and start working on Zelda Wii  U.  What did they do?  Put into production a cheap game for the 3DS, instead of allocating resources into a better game, and working on technology to enhance Wind Waker.  Wind Waker is in no shape or form near ready, so what were they doing for 4 years?  Killzone: Shadowfall is finished and is being polished as we speak and the PS4 isn't out, what's Nintendo's excuse?

Eh? Its not like NIntendo can sprout a new studio out of the ground. Nintendo EAD 3 work on Zelda games for handhelds AND consoles. They are one team. They shouldnt change how they develop games just to please you. The last Zelda game came out late 2011, they currently have 2 games planned for release in 2013.

And I love how you automatically put down this game, claiming they could do "better". Better tech doesnt = a better game. A Link to the Past is STILL one of the best games ever. Screw Sony and screw Killzone. GG broughtout Killzone 3 early 2011, Shadow Fall will be released late 2013. Thats over 2 and a half Years, close to 3 for development for a game. The main studio have had a small hand in KZ Mercenary. Please dont use Sony as an example of how to get games out quickly, as they have had a hand in what could be described as the biggest fuck up of the generation. The Last Guardian.

Because the Japanese that aren't Capcom don't know how to make games anymore doesn't mean U.S. studios don't.  Naughty Dog got Uncharted games out on 2 year cycles and are some of the most polished games this gen.  Same with Killzone, Infamous, God of War, etc.  None of those games had delays and were released in a timely fashion.  I will bring up Sony cause outside of Japan Studios they get their shit together.  I'm not saying Link to the Past 2 is going to be a bad game, I never said that, I said it's going to be good.  I said Nintendo can't be bothered to do anything but rehashing games.  What was the last thing they've made that was different?  Super Mario Galaxy?  And yes Nintendo has had how many years to invest in studios and people? And yes they should be expanding their studios for me, I'm their consumers, they take money from me, they should be using their profits to invest.   What are we getting instead?  A quick cash in on nastalgia and a Wind Waker port?  Excuse me for calling Nintendo out and being a disgruntled customer.

Rehashing?  Youre complaining about rehashing games... While youre complaining that you want more 3D Zelda?!

Good grief. Make your mind up.

Lets me draw maps, Nintendo.

How far are you in Etrian Odyysey IV, Carl2291?

Fuck, I need to buy a 3DS now.

It's quietly become pretty awesome.

I think it looks very good, but I'm worried when I hear about "the 3D will help to solve puzzles" and things like that. The original A Link to the Past didn't have many puzzles, it had labyrinths but not puzzles. It was more action oriented and I hope this one stays the same.

LttP was the first game in the series that started to become puzzle-based, though, especially when compared to the NES games (puzzles? Er...stab those dudes! Congrats! You solved the puzzle!).

I understand your concern, and also hope the puzzles are secondary to killing stuff, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

sorry to tell you kids, but this game is for us, the old core gamers. Nostalgia to its highest with this 2.5D. This is not a game to show any capability but to destroy anything with gameplay. People were asking for it, there you have it.
Sorry kids, you should wait until Zelda Wii U.

Oh you. You know just what to tell a guy! ^_^

The game looks pretty darn great in 3D (the trailer is available to download on the eShop).

And although I prefer 3D Zelda to 2D Zelda, I'm definitely going to give this game a shot. Looks like a lot of fun. ^_^

BULLSHIT. You take a side in this Zelda Civil War, sirrah, and you take it now. With us or against us!
