Forums - Nintendo - Zelda Link to the Past 2 coming to 3DS!!

I don't understand why people want X franchise to undergo significant changes. If you change the core gameplay, it wouldn't be the same game anymore. People keep buying Uncharteds n Marios cause of their unique gameplay which makes those game what they are. If you want a different experience from Uncharted/Mario, simply buy a different game. Plenty of em out there. You can't expect to get everything out of one game afterall.

I'm sure it's been said before, but I'll be disappointed if this game becomes puzzle-focused like all the other recent Zeldas. I really didn't like the DS Zeldas, and taking the name of "A Link to the Past," one of the great 2D Zeldas (a game still heavy on combat / exploration), and turning it into a puzzle-fest would piss me off.

Sadly I can't imagine the game any other way, especially how this game was presented, so as much as I love ALttP, it's hard to look forward to this. Feels like they're missing what made the old games so fun. I don't play Zelda just for puzzles, I can find plenty of those in any other cheap portable or indie game.

I agree. ALttP is my favorite zelda specifically because of all the awesome magic and amazing gameplay. Its just the funnest one to play imo

I fail to see how that's a good thing, because I enjoyed both those franchises much more than what Naughty Dog is doing now.

You fail to see it because it's a matter of perspective. Imagine if the tables were turned and Naughty Dog made Uncharted and the Last of Us before starting Jak & Daxter and Crash Bandicoot. That would be a good change in YOUR direction. What's ultimately important though is that they aren't a single franchise factory. Naughty Dog does whatever they think is interesting, and moves on to something new. I wouldn't mind if they released a new Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter once in a while, but it has to be ALONG with new projects. Making new projects in between also helps build anticipation for the return of old projects, like the return of Deus Ex or Thief.

I love Skyward Sword and many other Nintendo games. I just wish that instead of pumping out knee-jerk nostalgia targeted games like New Super Mario Bros or Link to the Past 2, they put some more time into the creative and interesting titles like Pikmin or Pushmo.

I want to know the name of the game!!!!

The Legend of Zelda: ???????????

^It'll have "The Legend of Zelda" in the title, and that's all that really matters. :)

All I'd like to know is why Naughty Dog doesn't want to work on newer IPs and older IPs at the same time. Wouldn't that, like, make a greater amount of people happy?
