How is this any good news. It's more bad news. The only good thing is if the new xbox can play used games.

lol... how on Earth are any of these rumors bad news? Can't wait to read your spin on that.

The only negative I see is you might have to buy an add-on to have 360 BC but that's better than none at all and is entirely optional.

For the every day gamer who just wants to buy a next gen console and play next gen games, this is amazing, game changing news compared to what we had before.

You have to pay for an add on to play 360 games. It's nice the option is available but how is that good news? It should be built into the console. The biggest thing is this won't even play xbox discs so all your disc games will be useless.

Microsoft is not new to the extra add-on features on their consoles, we had this with DVD in XBOX, HD-DVD on the pre 2008 360s and Kinect since 2010 if they pick a good price and releases some good game and 720 bundles with it for a reasonable price then I Think they've got a minor profit winner here. Sure it's not primarily a BC only console but if marketed correctly it could become a big advantage depending on the above Points(cost and bundles).

Btw wasn't their a rumor included that said that 360 games would be spinning inside the 720 and be streamed to the new 360(superslimmy) locally and then from there it would be outputted to the TV via the 720?

Yes ;) So what are your questions? Did you read the entire thread? There are many questions and answers.

At least there is the possibility, and connected to Durango you will be able to use your disc games. Other consoles make you pay for a streaming service that really make all your disc games useless as the only option to have BC. Of course Nintendo approach is the best, but not everyone wants to be constrained on their design by backwards compatibility.

They are at least offering one type of hardware-bc - not as good as Nintendo, better than Sony (to me). But you don't think it's good that Durango can be operated offline and allows used games, after the other rumors especially saying otherwise?

There is 2x "it" and they can work together and on their own. But I think it's better to read the thread :)

Sounds real good. Hopefully the GPU isnt a POS. If all this is true an the GPU is really close the the PS3 GPU i will buy one! If not... Well then ill see what kind of Multimedia functions it has before I decide to bite!

Long Live SHIO!

Well Sega did this with their 3rd generation of console and it did not work to well for them.  However this is just a rumor at this point, lets just wait for the reveil.
