Forums - Nintendo - The WiiU is having a lot of trouble lately, what can nintendo do to turn things around?

The WiiU is going through a lot of trouble lately, its not selling well, at all for that matter. and things dont seem to be getting better in the near future. recently a lot of high profile games seem to not be releasing on the WiiU. with battlefield 4 being the latest big game to skip the WiiU, alongside other big games like Destiny and GTA5 that up until now, have no confirmation what so ever of a WiiU release. so things are actually getting worse for the WiiU

while people may not agree on what are the reasons for this, the suggestions are many; high price point, lack of games, lack of big first party games, lack of 3rd party support, the game pad, the casual crowd moved on, marketing, customer confusion, underpowered hardware and there are many other suggestions on why the WiiU is perfoming badly.

this thread isnt a doom thread, its actually a thread to logically discuss what can nintendo do to turn things around and make the best out of the situation

please people lets keep this cevil, lets not turn this thread into a useless and time wasting flaim war, if you break any forum rules i wont hesitate to report you

What more is there to say on this topic. I think we've discussed it to death.

Nintendo is doing what they can, but clearly there is no casual nor core interest in WiiU.

With the gamepad, it'll be hard for them to engage the casuals.

With an underpowered system that is clearly once again going to be missing major 3rd party releases, it's hard for them to entice the core.

The best they can do at this point is make some great games for WiiU which will sell some systems and get to work on a replacement.

In my opinion, they should bring back the Love Hotels they used to had, make profit with them and whatever WiiU's can sell to this point, and destinate resources to a new machine.

Well, lets wait for the numbers that include the release of MH, NFS and Lego City in the US and europe. We can better discuss the amount of trouble, if we see what real games do for the system.

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Let's wait until we get a real system seller to judge it.

1. Give us some damn release dates for Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 for a start, and confirm which out of 3D Mario, Kart, Smash Bros, Yarn Yoshi, Bayonetta 2, and X will come out this year.

2. Show us new gameplay trailers for Bayonetta 2 and Yarn Yoshi.

3. Show at least one new AAA core game at E3.

4. Get F Zero, Starfox, and a new core IP on the boil, if they aren't already.

5. Stop being so secretive. Tell us what big games are coming.

E3 is either is gonna make or break the Wii U at this point

i agree, it will be interesting to see what these games will do. i doubt NFS will do much since it released already on other consoles. but lego seems like a good game and MH has its following

Four things:

1) Market the console

2) Release the delayed software including Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Wii Fit and Game & Wario

3) Cut the price by $50 in November to coincide with number 4) below...

4) Launch 3D Mario and Mario Kart 8

I've said it on these boards before, doing the above will see the Wii U having an installed userbase between 10m and 15m before the end of the year.

Gimme some games to play.

MH3U ain't going to last me forever. Gimme more stuff to look forward to.
