To be honest that's actually a little lower than what I was expecting. It's the 1st week after price cut with 2 decently big games coming out.

The following weeks don't look particularly great. People are overestimating Soul Sacrifice. This thing needs Monster Hunter, not Soul Sacrifice.

Gaming companies always talk about shipment figures.  The nice thing about this, is that the whole shipment is sold out.    

It is for the best to wait for Famitsu or Media Create number in order to know how many VITAS were sold.

I think we are being negative because the sales are negative...

I actually expect Vita to sell more than 44K but if these #'s are true, they are pretty low with all things being considered. Is it high for Vita? Yes! Are the #'s good though? Not really...

Saying "but those numbers are amazing for Vita" is pretty telling if you ask me.

I thought it was the WiFi model which was being phased out, being they're the same price and all...

The 3DS sold 21,416 in America and 32,454 in Europe last week, so I assume the 3DS is a bigger flop in those countries?

I'd imagine he means because the Vita had a $50 and a $100 price cut with a number of pretty big games. Below 75k is not a flop, it's probably too high for more people to even consider. There's no denying the 3DS is struggling in the West (though Europe isn't a country ) but let's not bring that up here.

Thanks, I was not even going to reply to it... Anyway If it is really sold out I will take everything back  of course and Vita will have done well... but Sony has been silly.

Even if it's "only" at 44k next week that would still be a nice improvement. The important point is this: The Vita had a pretty barren lineup this year so far but its release list for march looks really good and there'll be a steady stream of new releases over the next month. So sales should stay at an elevated level for the next weeks. We shouldn't expect it to sell like sliced bread all of a sudden but if it can sell 15-20k regularly that would be great and ensure better support in the future.

In these situations, the product that has a major price drop is getting tagged with a clearance label. Of course, the Wi-Fi model could be phased out, but it wouldn't make any sense.
