I'm down.

Central Time Zone (USA)

Good to see time zone chart.  I was going to mention that I suck at computing European times to mine.  I have no problem with knowing the time zones for mainland USA but for some reason I get all confused when trying to compute for elsewhere.  I'll still probably be all stoned asking what time for central it is.

What weapon will you play with?

Well for MH3 I mainly stuck with the switch axe.  I used the mace a decent amount, two handed swords sometimes, one hand sword and shield rarely (mainly in beginning).  All other weapons I wasn't that good with so I usually stuck with switch axe a lot of the time.  I liked that one switch axe that had lightning damage or whatever and if you hit them enough with it while it was a two hand sword it would shock "trap" them for a little bit which is always nice.

i wonder who here will be far distance fighter? There should be one per group imo

I'm in. Put me down as average or something. I have played Tri a lot but I want to roll with a new weapon and I don't have much experience in multiplayer.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

So tempted to buy after the demo. But I'm still paying other games and saving for REvelations.

Still on the fence, I'll lurk in here from time to time to see how many newbies there are. Can't keep up with you experienced hunters

Oh right Eastern Time zone USA for me, NNID is wnbs36

Central Time Zone. I'm Amp316.

I played this game for hundreds of hours so I guess that I am an expert or whatever you call it. I used to use a hammer or sword and shield depending on the monster, but I'm look try to master all of the weapons this time.

Hmm, I see there's no point in me re-posting my thread now then.

Cone, almost any offensive weapon (Switch-Axe, Longsword, Sword and Shield) and GMT.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Is there any Monster Hunter beginner's guide out there that's actually worth reading? I found a lot of useless "you are a hunter and you hunt monsters! Oh and you can play online!" guides. Also there's loads of info dumps (tables with item lists, etc.) but so far I've found nothing that actually guides you through the first hours of the game (which weapons best to use first, how to set up a trap, which items you need to collect first and which armor to forge in the beginning - stuff like that). Useful guides / tutorials could be put into the OP to encourage new players.
