What would be the point of this? A huge part of Nintendo's legacy was the concept of third party software developers on a videogame platform.
Why should Nintendo betray their own legacy?
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Not really, the Gamecube got a a small percentage of ports from the PS2, and those were largely dumbed down. Resident Evil 4 was the only third party game in Gamecube's entire existence that was worth talking about. Resident Evil is a series that is much more geared to Sony fans than Nintendo fans. To be frank, those who hold Resident Evil 4 as one of the core reasons as to why Gamecube was a good system, really should re-examine why they are Nintendo fans, and not Playstation fans in the first place. Those types of games are far more commonplace on the Playstation platform. Gamecube did a good job of being like a poor-man's Playstation, and more of a betrayal to Nintendo's philosophy of innovation.

I hope this is how it pans out, that Nintendo lets the mega budget titles do whatever they want and focus more on making their platform a great space for independent developers to publish high quality smaller budget titles. The 'mainstream' video games that are developed these days are virtually of no interest to me anyway.
Wait, don't we buy Nintendo Consoles for Nintendo Games anyway? What else is there to buy?

Rail shooters and mini-games!
Nintendo already blocks third parties in a way. They hold many things back and generally give third parties a hard time by totally ignoring their wishes. I really don't think Nintendo even wants third party blockbusters on their systems. They'd rather have the market to themselves and save money from not investing anything in third party publishers.
This is good or bad depending on how you look at it.
Isn't the complaint 3rd parties have is that people only buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games now?
