Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo blocks 3rd party games...

I think some of you guys are putting too much thought into this.

It's a "what if scenario" not "why this would happen".

I did buy this machine. It was called the N64, lol.

I had Mario 64, Zelda: OoT, Killer Instinct Gold, F-Zero X, 1080, Wave Race 64, Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye, Conker's BFD, NBA Courtside for it. No third party games.

The GameCube I bought Rogue Squadron II, Viewtiful Joe, and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (though technically this was made by a Nintendo developer) as third party games.

The Wii I bought GoldenEye and Monster Hunter Tri.

Of course. I don't intend to buy any third party games for the Wii U unless they're exclusives. Wii U will be my exclusive machine. I couldn't care less about third party support.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

There's already a hardware feature that block third party games, it's called the Nintendo logo.*

To answer your question, yes I would. The Wii had enough first party gems to justify the cost of a console, and the Wii U will probably achieve the same. That said though, it would have been a real shame not to have Monster Hunter Tri and Goldeneye 007.

*Just so I don't get modded, I am joking.

Why should third parties go out of their way when Nintendo never does the same for them? They've played more than fair with Nintendo and yet again they will go to the consoles full time that can maximize what they hope to create in a next gen title.

nothing is stronger then the first party IP's, I would so buy a wii U just to play those games.

WII U // PC // 3ds XL // VITA

What difference would that make?

Seriously, what would be the benefit of such a move? It would decrease shovelware sure. But shovelware doesn't really harm any informed consumer because they wouldn't buy it anyway. On the other hand, it would prevent consumers from purchasing any potentially enjoyable 3rd party games.

I only bought the Wii for Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower and The Last Story

I think it would be awesome. You guys should totally go for it.

Would you buy a Nintendo console that would only play Nintendo games?

Are you trying to tell me that I can play games from other companies on any of Nintendo's consoles? I thought Nintendo consoles only played Nintendo games.
