I think there's no need for Nintendo to block 3rd party games.

Because there are no third party games coming anyway.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

What about Just Dance!? Can I still have it?

Nintendo can't get away with no third party. Even if the games suck, it's a huge source of revenue. And they simply do not make enough games. Now, if they blew a few billion and picked up two big publishing houses like Take-Two and Capcom, they could then say screw 3rd party. Ironically, with so many exclusives now on the Nintendo system, it would sell like hotcakes and 3rd parties would be begging to get on there.

Nintendo proved with the GameCube and Wii that they can survive off their own software alone.

The Gamecube had wonderful 3rd party support.

Not really, the Gamecube got a a small percentage of ports from the PS2, and those were largely dumbed down. Resident Evil 4 was the only third party game in Gamecube's entire existence that was worth talking about. Resident Evil is a series that is much more geared to Sony fans than Nintendo fans. To be frank, those who hold Resident Evil 4 as one of the core reasons as to why Gamecube was a good system, really should re-examine why they are Nintendo fans, and not Playstation fans in the first place. Those types of games are far more commonplace on the Playstation platform. Gamecube did a good job of being like a poor-man's Playstation, and more of a betrayal to Nintendo's philosophy of innovation.

I feel like I want to strangle you for saying such nonsense:

Resident Evil Remake

Resident Evil Zero

Viewtiful Joe 1+2

Soul Calibur II

Beyond Good and Evil

Super Monkey Ball 1+2

Prince of Persia Trilogy

Killer 7

Tales of Symphonia

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

SSX 3

Ikaruga

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes

Skies of Arcadia Legends

Burnout  2

Phantasy Star Online I & II

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

Timesplitters 2 + 3

P.N.O.3

Tony Hawk's

Baten Kaitos

Worms 3D

List getting a little long for you? Let's see what you said again, "Resident Evil 4 was the only third party game in Gamecube's entire existence that was worth talking about".

YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

Of course. That is the only reason to get a Nintendo console. The third party support is poor, as is the hardware. They make up for it with the games though. I often wish they would go third party if there was a way to keep the high standard of games. Either that or step things up

Dont even bother, hes a lost cause...

there will be two many and longer game droughts. I don't care if we don't get all the games. I just want decent support.

Are we talking Nintendo only or 2nd party as well (such as Rare).

I only realised that, while I did rent plenty of Rare N64 titles, I only ever purchased Nintendo titles, so to me, the N64 really was the console with only Nintendo games...

my current gaming to-do-list:

MetalGearRising
Dead Space 3
Naruto Storm 3

and non of them are on the WiiU... I am a little disappointed by Nintendo's 3rd party support promise

That's insane, Nintendo gets cash even when the 3rd parties output is trash. It is one of the reasons some of them dislike Nintendo because the company sells gangbusters off their own software and still pull in cash for every game the 3rd parties wind up paying to put on their systems. A move to restrict 3rd parties would just destroy their systems entirely since even though Nintendo sells the most, 3rd parties are important to keeping their systems a float since like ofter developers they have cut back on development in recent years.
