Keep your PS3's everyone. The cost and the hassle of BC in the PS4 is not worth it. Eventually Gaikai will stream all these games so you can play all the titles you bought, without having to download them took, and Gaikai will probably be part of a tiered subscription that will have other worthwhile features, ones you may already have subscribed to the service for.

Essentially this isn't a big deal and we will probably see PS1 and PS2 emulation. If you need/want to sell your PS3 to finance a PS4, go ahead. Get a PS3 again later when the price is cheap, those digital titles will be there on your account when you come back.



Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Your games aren't going anywhere and are forever tied to your account unlike Nintendo's stone age bullshit. But until there is a solution (emulation or Gaikai) you just can't play them on PS4.

Wow, did you even think before making this thread?
Digital PS3 games are still that...PS3 GAMES. PS4 doesn't have the hardware to run PS3 games.

Same reason they removed it from Wii. They didn't want the extra costs of controller hardware ports and this late in the game, GC BC was not an issue for users. They already had Wiis.

Well, the PS4 doesn't run PS3 games, so I didn't really expect it to run PSN games optimised for PS3 either.

Perhaps they'll be able to port some of the best titles over, and it could somehow detect that you've already purchased the original versions by connecting a PS3-PSN account?

Because the PS4 will not contain the hardware required to run PS3 games.

How much longer will this have to be repeated?

Worse, how much longer will it have to be explained that without Cell and RSX, nothing could play PS3 games (retail or PSN) directly.

I wouldnt expect them 2, like others have said its different architecture, and theres some big changes from the PS3 to the PS4.
