Forums - Nintendo - Indutry, thirdpartys and sony/ms fans are decided to get rid of nintendo this gen

im sorry but one of my fav games mario party got a single entry.
with the amount of money they were making, a single kirby game was almost a slap in the face.
yeah, sure it was better than gamecube, but no, doesn't even come close to 64, much less snes or nes.
rare by itself on 64 made nearly more core games than nintendo made on wii.
something like 8 vs 12.

Nintendo is the worst partner for 3rd parties in terms of business relationships(games don't sell well) and technical limitations.

That's debatable.  Technical limitations aren't always considered a negative thing.  A lot of third parties like to have games on consoles where the budgets don't need to be very high. EA and Activision don't enjoy having to spend $30 million to make a game and then see some of them struggle to break even.  Casual games on Wii and DS sold in huge numbers, and all of the smart third parties raked in money which they could then use to fund expensive HD games on the 360/PS3.  It helps to offset high development costs for HD games.

Nintendo has definitely improved their relationships with many third parties since the start of the Wii U in early 2011.  Letting developers give them advice on what to do/ what not to do with the hardware, as well as giving select third parties access to very early dev kits that normally only first-parties would have.

They're also spending a great deal of money on investing in third-party exclusives like LEGO City, Bayonetta, etc that definitely speaks to the fact that they're aware of their reputation and they're looking to change it.

It also seems appropriate to mention that Nintendo with their Wii U and 3DS eShop has become the most indie-friendly console platform to release games on.  Way easier than Microsoft and Steam, and even putting Sony's indie-friendliness to shame.

Look at PS4, that is what you get when you ask developers to help make the console. Comparing Wii U to PS4 in terms of ease of development is like comparing apples to oranges. To say that Nintendo asked developers for help on making the Wii U is ridiculous. It's clear they did not. Nintendo does what Nintendo wants. That's the way its always been and nothing has changed.

Don't assume that just because Nintendo decided not to make Wii U as powerful as the PS4 that Nintendo refused to listen to anything third parties said to them.  Nintendo most definitely asked for input when designing Wii U.  There is evidence of it.  I remember reading about it during E3 2011 when Wii U was first announced.   It's not always about graphics.   The most powerful machine has never, ever been the market leader in any console generation.

It's about more than just graphics/power.

Nintendo has too much money to quit next gen. Their money can last them for quite a while, so there's really no chance that Nintendo will fall through this gen, if any time soon.

One interesting thing to look forward to is what they might be doing with their next console due to that recent merging of their console and handheld departments. Of course it will be quite a while before we see the next thing.

Doesnt change anything for me, ill be getting Nintendo hw and sw each gen, if Nintendo stops making hw, ill get none and stick to my old consoles and PC.

@DieAppleDie Well said, I'd do exactly the same. I don't think it'll come to that though, I will never buy an xbox or playstation to play Ninty games, I would play them on iOS if it came to it (but it wont).

Why should Nintendo stop making hardware, if anyone should stop making hardware its Micro$hit, heck they started out COPYING someone else's operating system and called it MSDOS, they didn't even make hardware, they should stop making hardware because with YLOD and RROD they clearly don't have a clue. I'd rather have solid failsafe Nintendo hardware than the crappy xbox or playstation with their numerous problems, to hell with absolute top machine specs.

To properly quote with your WiiU you must tap the quoted post just after taping the quote button, before it gets its final quote tree shape.

A lot of interesting theories, and with all this talk and philosophy about the topic i think is fair to say that not the whole industry wants nintendo to fail; so my next question is this:

who are the people or the rival company with the most interest in nintendo to fail? and why?

34 years playing games.

are Nintendo going somewhere?

it can't always be like the wii, infact it never was before

if anyone is equipped to survive the mini smart/pad on the go market with games/devices it's Nintendo,i used to play game & watch many, many, many moons ago

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

OP - You're entire premiss is flimsy, but since core gamers are immature children, it is quite ironic that they are apparently acting up as much as you perceive.

Regardless, you're ignoring the most important factor in that Blesinksi interview (possibly due to your intentions for race baiting Nintendo fans, i dk), the entire industry is in decline/revolution right now.

ANYONE releasing a super powerful device in this market is either doomed to failure, or facing a steep uphill battle. This is exactly why this happened last week - http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=155703&page=1#, and also why the 3DS has received more support, developer wise and customer wise, in Japan.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

People too cheap to buy more than 1 console, so they can play Nintendo games on a Non-nintendo console.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Nintendo destroyed itself with the wii. End of story.

There is no conspiracy to kill nintendo, nintendo is doing a great job of doing that themselves lol.
