*puts on tin foil hat and waits for all the conspiracy theories*

did you have one explanation or theory?

about what the bad press? or third parties? and btw i would like sources to what third parties said bad about the system and what know what they actually said

just check all the doom threads about wiiu, there are your sources.

WiiU doom threads i know off. i was asking about the third parties talking bad about the WiiU claim.

They can´t, Nintendo is too much for them.

If worse comes to worse Nintendo will become a publisher. Unless the WiiU really fails though I don't see them leaving. Nintendo has made a ton of money of the Wii, DS and is making good money on the 3DS so it will be awhile before they start to hurt. Of course their financials are doing worse because they hit their peak with the Wii and DS but that's to be expected.

Worse comes to worse, they will just stay handheld only.

Nintendo is the worst partner for 3rd parties in terms of business relationships(games don't sell well) and technical limitations.

That's debatable.  Technical limitations aren't always considered a negative thing.  A lot of third parties like to have games on consoles where the budgets don't need to be very high. EA and Activision don't enjoy having to spend $30 million to make a game and then see some of them struggle to break even.  Casual games on Wii and DS sold in huge numbers, and all of the smart third parties raked in money which they could then use to fund expensive HD games on the 360/PS3.  It helps to offset high development costs for HD games.

Nintendo has definitely improved their relationships with many third parties since the start of the Wii U in early 2011.  Letting developers give them advice on what to do/ what not to do with the hardware, as well as giving select third parties access to very early dev kits that normally only first-parties would have.

They're also spending a great deal of money on investing in third-party exclusives like LEGO City, Bayonetta, etc that definitely speaks to the fact that they're aware of their reputation and they're looking to change it.

It also seems appropriate to mention that Nintendo with their Wii U and 3DS eShop has become the most indie-friendly console platform to release games on.  Way easier than Microsoft and Steam, and even putting Sony's indie-friendliness to shame.

Look at PS4, that is what you get when you ask developers to help make the console. Comparing Wii U to PS4 in terms of ease of development is like comparing apples to oranges. To say that Nintendo asked developers for help on making the Wii U is ridiculous. It's clear they did not. Nintendo does what Nintendo wants. That's the way its always been and nothing has changed.

Don't assume that just because Nintendo decided not to make Wii U as powerful as the PS4 that Nintendo refused to listen to anything third parties said to them.  Nintendo most definitely asked for input when designing Wii U.  There is evidence of it.  I remember reading about it during E3 2011 when Wii U was first announced.   It's not always about graphics.   The most powerful machine has never, ever been the market leader in any console generation.

I love Nintendo, but I think they really fucked up last gen.
I'd been saying for the longest time, that Nintendo wasn't doing enough to court the core gamer. This happened in numerous ways, but some of the important reasons include:
1 Not enough core entries for popular platformers and traditional franchises.
2 Extremely strict policies regarding third parties and publishing and predatory practices
3 Not enough investment in wiiU development and hardware and software.

To be fair, it's the first time they've ever released two mainline Super Mario games on one console.  Also, the first time since N64 that they released a traditional Kirby game on a home console.

I feel like compared to GCN and N64 first-party efforts, Wii U stacks up pretty comparably.

It's time to industry give a example for Nintendo...
