Well it won't effect me at all. I'm simply never going to buy one of their games next gen.

Expected... and probably all major publishers will follow. But until I can finish the game without any disruption, its fine for me. They will see my 20-70$ for the basic game, if its good, but not a penny more

Makes a man pine for the good old days, when grinding was put in to pad the scant amount of content, or disguise the games' weak fundamentals...

Thankfully the only EA game I'm interested in is Mirror's Edge 2 but that won't happen so...Oh wait, Sim City is coming. Crap.

So, instead of going Freemium, they opt to go full price at retail + microtransactions. Good news. The whole DLC/stupid pathetic content sold way to expensively needs to die, soon.

This is the reason I've not bought the game. I'll get it used or borrow it, but I won't buy it first hand.
I don't mind too much if a free-to-play game money-begs me from time to time because there was no entry fee to that and they have to make their money somehow. I'm not paying full price for a money-begging game though. If it wants to inform me that an expansion pack is available during the title screen I can live with that, but constant suggestion I go to the online marketplace during gameplay is not just annoying, but one of the worst things you can do in terms of immersion breaking.

Looks like no one will have to play a game just buy their way through it... just by buying it again... I am NOT liking the next gen setups lately..... Both Sony and M$ are poised to stick it to the consumer with a mere update with the patents they have filed over the last few years... Remember a BC ps3... yeah we saw how long that lasted.

Im glad i have a good gaming PC because it might be my only system at the way things seem to be going in the future. Oh and those games are transferable to another computer..... just making a point.

Ppl need to stop complaining, stop buying their games and drive EA out of business.

You don't agree with EA's way of doing business? Then stop supporting them, this means don't buy FiFA, don't buy Madden, don't buy Mass Effect. Sure some of them are good games, but their are so many good games out there atm from developer who are way more deserving of your money.

If you buy any of EA's games, then you have no right to complain about how EA are cash in on the sheep that you are.

Too bad they are the only option for some games (mainly sport games that they bought exclusive rights to, aka NFL).  Doesn't bother me that much since I haven't bought a sports game since 2K2, 2K3.  I believe they had to give up their monopoly on the NCAA in order to keep their NFL monopoly though.  Usually, there are better alternatives (2K sport games over EA) but sometimes they just own the complete market through monopolistic deals.  How good is EA at making sport games?  Just look at NBA Live.
