Well, EA hasn't gotten a dime from me in the last couple years, even though I have played a couple of their freemium games on iPad.  Looks like Need For Speed MW on Wii U will most likely be my last EA game.

I bet they'd enjoy it if I did, I just won't pay for it anymore. It will be surprising if most consumers respond well to being sucked dry like this though.

facebook games were built on pay to win, or time sinks, and they had their run but i believe most of them are in hard times right now. So I dont worry too much. I am sure it will be a big thing for a couple of years but it will not last too long.

I can see this working for Fifa.. players like Lampard 99 cents and Ronaldo, Messi for 4.99

I´m sure there are people who don´t see anything wrong with microtransactions because "they aren´t mandatory, they´re a choice, and choice is good, right?"

The problem is if/when they´re designed in a way that it affects the core gameplay experience, which is the case for those scavenger bots in Dead Space 3.
