indeed, stuff like "we're all really tired of mario games now" coming from someone who has hated each and every Mario game, I mean the statment is not a lie but it also has no effect on anything.

Let's be fair, though, in that not everyone might have known it was 3DS focused. I joined the stream a couple of minutes late and I had no idea. The website I watched it from made no mention of that. That being said, the article wasn't very good, and seemed to be trying to stir the pot rather than say anything constructive. It felt like someone purposefully playing devil's advocate.
As far as the "Year of Luigi" goes, however, I can't help but agree. From the outside looking in, he just appears to be Mario with green clothing--basically, a way to have more Mario games while saying "see, we can do something else". That's not to say Luigi's mansion wasn't a nice looking game, as I thought it was the star of the show.
Does the next Nintendo Direct have a theme yet?

Yeah, you would expect a journalist to find out, that this direct was for 3DS. Maybe the journalistic quality at ... erm ... gamersbliss is not that great.

Couldn't agree more, it was pretty clear that the previous Nintendo Direct was for the U, and one was coming for the 3DS.
People will spin things whichever way they need to.

I can't believe Sony didn't announce any new PSV game on this Nintendo Direct. Sony is doomed!
