The only reasons that WiiU was even mentioned in this Nintendo Direct is because the last Nintendo Direct they stated they were going to go into more detail about the NSMBU DLC (plus they wanted to go into detail about why it's the Year of Luigi) and they wanted to show some 3rd party games (I guess since Nintendo didn't show many 3rd Party titles last time, they wanted to make it clear that they do have a decent lineup). |
Let's be fair, though, in that not everyone might have known it was 3DS focused. I joined the stream a couple of minutes late and I had no idea. The website I watched it from made no mention of that. That being said, the article wasn't very good, and seemed to be trying to stir the pot rather than say anything constructive. It felt like someone purposefully playing devil's advocate.
As far as the "Year of Luigi" goes, however, I can't help but agree. From the outside looking in, he just appears to be Mario with green clothing--basically, a way to have more Mario games while saying "see, we can do something else". That's not to say Luigi's mansion wasn't a nice looking game, as I thought it was the star of the show.
Does the next Nintendo Direct have a theme yet?
