Yeah, Gamestops used and new prices are criminal. Amazon and eBay offer far better deals most of the time.

I can see GameStop having the same fate as GAME unfortunately. It'll be a slow demise though as consumers move towards buying their games digitally and in places such as Walmart and the like (as they're cheaper there...at least that's the case in the UK)



My prediction threads:

i seriously don't understand that, i don't buy at gamestop because they are too expensive but what does this have to do with me? i don't care if there is a gamestop in every city or not. or i even prefer it because more shops in the cities selling consoles means more people recognizing "gaming" and that means probably higher console sales. gameshops are like advertisement for consoles, as more shops there are as more people will check it out, go in one of them and play maybe a demo or so.

The place i worked at over the holidays had the workers complain of slashed hours this year, though like BenVTrigger said, they're basically the only game in town

The video game industry has said time and time again that used games are a problem and Gamestop is big on used games. Therefore, any bad news for Gamestop is good news for gaming.

You are a prime example for why free and rational thinking must be prohibited.

As I said many of you are putting too much faith in this article. The situation isnt dire at all. It's just a slow time on the end of a long console cycle

GS is huge where im from there used to be a couple of these stores formally called funcoland pre 00" since then there are literally everywhere some areas have a GS less than a mile from another so it isnt hard to see them closing some

i dont shop there often only for used games that i cant find elsewhere do to walmart bestbuy ex. not carrying older games from a gen there prices are ridicules for used games and buying back your used games

for example i recently bought dead space 1 from them, on psn ds1 is $15 and 2 is $20 unfortunately i want the box an all so i had to buy used from GS i payed $20 for DS1 and will probably buy 2 soon fortunately they only want $18 for 2

Overpriced used games and hardly any good deals on new games that pretty much sums up Gamestop.
