China has 1/3rd of the world's population (roughly), if you can make a breakthrough there then you're set really.

the chinese aren't gonna buy the consoles, and even if they did they would not buy software which is what really matters anway. I really don't understand the excitement of investors. The chinese are way behind even the koreans in this respect, and the korean market is quite bad they basically buy some consoles but no games. They do not have respect for intellectual property, it's part of the culture, not gonna change anytime soon.

I don't think Sony and Nintendo sales will jump to significantly cause that Island territorial dispute between China and Japan has caused many Chinese people to stop buying Japanese products like Toyota cars, Japanese technology.

China doesn't like Japan, and Sony and Nintendo are japanese.

I think they'll go with Microsoft, or make a system of their own.

Its too late for Wii to make an impact there and WiiU is still expensive. PS3 is cheap enough to produce and probably has the best chance of all consoles. Sony is really dedicated and focused on developing markets, neither Nintendo nor Microsoft concentrate as much on these markets.

Just look in how many countries PSN is available and the amount of local languages they put in games.

I'm surprised there is a Turkish PSN and games like Uncharted and God of War have Turkish languages.

Some people here forget that chinese actually don't like Japan ;). This would benefit msft more than it would benefit sony or ninty.
