Not the same. But I don't it will affect sales much. People buy products, not countries.

It affects sales in Japan. Do Japanese hate Americans more than the Chinese do? o.O |
It's more a cultural thing. japanese people don't like the games the XBOX has to offer. Also some history. As Nintendo, Sony and Sega are Japanese firms, they made a good presence there. That will probably not be the same in China, everyone starts at Zero. That said, cultural the east asians have more things in common, so they probably prefer Japanese games over US-games.

I'm pretty sure the Chinese would be more interested in Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy than Call of Duty and Mass Effect. |
I hope you are kidding right? You know that China, Taiwan, Vietnam and South Korea are Hardcore PC gamers right. They prefer games like Mass Effect over games like Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy.

K-Pop Idols. I wouldn't think you would know them.
The reason we brought them up is because they have big influences on marketing.

It is odd that they didn't put Sunny in the Ads. Afterall, she's the gamer in the group!
If you think that American products don't have a lot of influence in China, I suggest you look at where their citizens spend their money at the box office.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
