It's more a cultural thing. japanese people don't like the games the XBOX has to offer. Also some history. As Nintendo, Sony and Sega are Japanese firms, they made a good presence there. That will probably not be the same in China, everyone starts at Zero. That said, cultural the east asians have more things in common, so they probably prefer Japanese games over US-games.
