ic, i didnt read all the posts. But yah, this concept has been proven again and again, i don't think anyone can win that argument...people spend their phD doing calculation on this kind of stuff.....I dont think a few forum posters would be able to flip that around so easily haha. Good job

But you need to go off of something though; if you free style everything, what do you even use as the basis of understanding the physical world? or should everything be meta-physical? Even Einstein had to based his genius scientific invention on already existing concepts like velocity and time right? If you just believe in wild stories, you may as well live in fantasy land. Which you can do if you want to. Split the ocean in half, the only possible explanation is some sort of magical power he has, but I do not accept that because that would make everything else irrelevant in the real world. Just like the guy above said the key is if we still believe in miracle. I do not, but you may, which is fine.


yes i know that all...but even this splitin water into half is possible in the scientific world i even saw an experiment a small sized one..why not embracing the impossible ? How can in quantum physics one and the same atom co exist on two different sides of the Universe and communicate ? isnt that a so called fantasy ? everything we imagine is almost possible .. the thing is most scientists do not believe in God but throw around with this kind of stuff at the Us.

i think in the 80s or so someone came up with  "dark energy" it was dissmised and now we learn such a force exists that drives the universe.

Yes, imagination is good. However, i do not dedicate my way of life around it (i.e. religion i take it, is a way of life for most folks). But imagination is very much needed in the scientific world, i agreed.

lulz, Khan brings up a valid point and then some guy quotes him only to respond with an invalid one. Classic. The displacement is what the experiment shows, dude. The volume of that ice is equal to the volume of its water when melted. Thus, you will never overflow. Conservation of energy.

Water + Ice = Displacement

Displacement = volume of ice

volume of ice = volume of melted ice

Get it?

Also to add to his point, it's not only about melting continental icecaps and thermal dilation but also all the extra water over continental shelves will also press the continents down just a little further, just like all that glaciers did during the ice age. And there's water erosion too... overall you would need to look perhaps at the 100, 110 meter aline to figure what would come from all that polar ice melting down.

Thermal expansion does not apply. The displacement of the solid water is the same as the displacement from the water in liquid form - as the experiment showed.

The only applicible response was Mr. Khans. You just parroted his answer.

This thread is very funny. I don't know what it has to do with video games, but some of this was just hilarious. Dinosaurs and humans coexisting, funny stuff. (well not if you consider birds to be the descendants of therapod dinosaurs... but hanging out with a T. rex... just too funny)

The Earth will most definitely end... life on earth as we know it is not likely to survive another billion years given the life cycle of the sun. The planet's orbit may decay and fall into the Sun in the late red giant phase billions of years after that. However the planet will be quite dead by then. A few other things could happen in the mean time, but humans will be long extinct before any of the truly bad stuff starts.

My advice, don't worry about it and prep for the zombie apocalypse, far more likely than the end of the world in 2050. The odds of a zombie Apocalypse are essentially zero unless you count the 28 days later variety which would increase it ever so slightly.

First of all I'd like to say that you have no sense of honor. I'm not even catholic but that last sentence is highly insulting in general, I don't need to be religious to realize how out of left field you actually are.

When people call a man a madman, that doesn't make him a madman... I'm not sure where you get your logic from but times have indeed changed if that's the logic used in today's world. I'd rather have my face burn than listen to much more of it to be totally honest.

I am expressing free speech and I think if you believe Bible bedtime stories you are probably idiots but I still "respect" your believes and I won't go blow up your church with a bomb strapped to your bible. In my sane mind, I think the Bible if full of shit, because the stories are not believable and none of you have seen God's face; probably because He doesn't really exist. Show me some hard evidence, maybe I will believe it. Bible didn't mention the dinosaurs, we have fossil records, the dating preceeded the time of Adam and Eve by most Bibilcal records. I went to a Chrisitian elementary school, i thought the stories would bullshit when I was 7 years old, and I still do and I am 29. Sense of honor on a internet forum? Nah, you wanted my opinion and I am here to express it. Reglions only lead to violence; look in any history book.
