lulz, Khan brings up a valid point and then some guy quotes him only to respond with an invalid one. Classic. The displacement is what the experiment shows, dude. The volume of that ice is equal to the volume of its water when melted. Thus, you will never overflow. Conservation of energy.

Water + Ice = Displacement

Displacement = volume of ice

volume of ice = volume of melted ice

Get it?

What the hell? He mentioned thermal expansion, that happens to water too and its common knowledge.

Also to add to his point, it's not only about melting continental icecaps and thermal dilation but also all the extra water over continental shelves will also press the continents down just a little further, just like all that glaciers did during the ice age. And there's water erosion too... overall you would need to look perhaps at the 100, 110 meter aline to figure what would come from all that polar ice melting down.
