Then when that happens and Jesus still fails to show up all those years of failed prophecies combined with an increasingly more educationally advanced population that won't buy into fairy tales so readily as their ancestors did should certainly signal the beginning of the end of Christianity somewhere in that vicinity of time.

However, since the whole Revelations scenario was only written about the Fall of Ancient Rome and has just become a mythological meme in the minds of indoctrinated Christians ever since that time, the rest of the world will be just fine and move on and Christianity will increasingly come to be known as just a footnote in the intellectual development of mankind with a more repugnant history than all of the others combined.

Even in a system that developes sentient life the process takes billions of years, not many planets have that long in the goldilocks zone.  Of those that do only a certain portion would develope space flight.  Of those few that do, sublight speed is likely to be limiting even to those with the capability to build wormholes like the Viser-Kramer gates since to control them they would need to build something on either end which means probably 0.1-0.4 C travel at best system to system.  This means somewhere between 5 and 50 million years to explore the galaxy.  Most species will either go extinct or evolve into something else in that time and social cohesion to maintain such an ambition is unlikely.  Asuming some begin the process they are unlikely to complete it since the energy requirement is just so damn high.

Now given the unlikely event that this has happened consider the vast differences in stellar evolution, most of these events will be offset in time by a considerable amount of time, probably measured in millions of years.  If anything comes here it is likley a robotic probe or a automated gate building ship... more likely the former.  They will have better things to do than to abduct Vern the plumber and probe him anally.

Your post made me laugh at how people just parrot what they heard and not do any research for them-selves. While it is true that the Bible isn't a scienctific textbook, and wasn't meant to be. Where it does touch on science it is very accurate, even to the point where it stood at odds with the best scientific minds of the time it was written.

A few examples:

Cleaniness and santary laws of the Mosaic Law covenent where out of step with the popular advanced medical science of Egypt. Where Egypt used feeces and urine in their salves and oinments. The Mosaic law  required that such things should be done outside of the living area  and a ditch should be dug and such items buried, and if a person came into contact with such things the where to bath and be corentined to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

In the book of Job, written by Moses, stated that the Earth is suspended in space on nothing. (Job 26:7)

The bible writter Ishiah said that the earth was a circle(globe, the Hebrew/Aramaic word used here can be translated either circle or globe) And the two above where written in a time where the prevelent view was the Earth was a flat sheet set up something, set up a turtle swimming in an ocean. (Isa 40:22)

The Bible writter Solomon poetically discribed the water cycle. (Ecc  1:7)

The creation account as it is written in the Bible is extrememly accuarate form a view point of a person standing on the Earth. Which explains the sepration of the appearence of light and the appearence of the sun and moon. The cloud cover would first let in light then as the cloud cover lessened over millions of year. The problem with the account comes from those who don't know how the acount was written and insist on a literal 24-hour periods. Where the word translated day, has the meaning of an era or period of time. There was a seprate word used for the 24-hour day.

The same account is supported by the fossile evidence on when certin classifications of spieces appeared on the planet.

wait wait your gonna tell me in the little amount of time humans have had to do what we've done mainstream scientists say we've only been around for like 8,000 years we went from building primative towns and technology which iwoudbe referring to the sumarians. which i think we can both agree 8,000 years isnt long in univeral time and just in that little amount of time which i shouldn't even go that far backcuz look just 200 years ago we didnt have skyscrapers cars planes submarines satelites nano technology etc. and if i went around telling everyone 200 years ago that we would have phones and internet they would have locked me away in the looney bin. and just because a lowly intelligent being like us humans cant seem to go 20 years without fighting and destroying each other (religon) doesn't mean another race with much more intelligence would. its funny how dumb you are yeah sure NOW you dont think going to the moon is impossible but 150 years ago if i told you that you wouldhave said "impossible" why? because your not smart enough, well us humans havent done it so no one else can, thats just a ignorant way of lookingat things, and a million miles seems far but not when you can travel interdemensionally you could travel 100 million light years within a blink of an eye. guesss what 500 years ago scientists said the world was roundand guess what 99% of people knew it to be true even though they were wrong. just like us today we think its inconcievable to travel far just because we 've been flying for 50 years and we know everything right? wrong and in 500 or maybe 5,000 years if you were alive you might have a different opinion get out of your cave and open your mind. jeez people are either brainwashed or just dumb.

Yeah, my explaination was false. It's the displacement that is key. Displacement from solid water (ice) is the same as the displacement from the liquid water (melted ice).

Actually the opposite, the earth's distance from the sun increases (just as the moon is slowly leaving - conservation of angular momentum). The explosion of the outer solar shell while turning into a red giant,  will evaporate all the inner plants including the earth.

But why this site attracts so many religious nutjobs is curious, indeed. Every week there is another escapee from the looney bin trying to convince people here that "the bible is right" by interpreting obscure passages of the bible in even more obscure ways.
