I've always needed a Nintendo console for exclusives. But I did consider switching to Xbox for a while, for the multiplats, and then I discovered that PC usually got them. So if there ever is a multiplat I want I just PC it.

I don't actually have the $$ to burn for 2 seperate consoles. My current PC and Ninty console formula seems to work well. (Esp since there haven't been many PC games I wanted to play lately expect competitive multiplayer like SC or Lol/DoTA.)

So lately I've actually been MORE attracted to buying Ninty games, even as I got older. Maybe I just realized that somewhere along the line video games were also an art form, and nothing screams art more than Ninty colors.

Still want a PS3 for some JRPGs though, though that's about it.

Don't be afraid of changing sides. Take into consideration the advanced online capabilities of the ps3 and ps+.

Don't take advantage of his situation. TURKISH!!

I have always had multiple platforms and I could not choose one if I had to. Wii U to me sounds like it is worth the purchase when Pikmin 3 comes out, but I will not have enough money. Eventually though I think I will own all next gen platforms. PS3 is great atm but in a year Wii U will be the spotlight and a year after that who knows.

Personally I'd say that PS3 would have been a better choice at that particular point, especially if you'd been gaming on Wii all of last generation.

I'm sure Wii-U will flourish into a fantastic console in the future. Perhaps it'll reach great levels by this Christmas, perhaps it'll do it by next year. But PS3 is there now, and not only that, it's had 5+ years of fantastic games coming for it, all of which you can pick up for ridiculously cheap. You've got the best of the old and the new with it.

And then if you decide in a year's time "Wii-U has lots of games I'd like to play", then you can just trade in your PS3 and pick up a Wii-U.

But at the end of the day, no choice you make is going to be wrong, really.

Hi all,

A question got me wondered when my little brother wanted to buy a Wii U.  If I were told this years way back, I wouldn't hesitate to say: "Yes, let's buy it". But now, it's like: "Mmm, let's see what are the other choices".

I love Ninty so much because these are games we grew up with. Who doesn't love Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong or Zelda? Hell, even Pokémon!!. But this formula has been cooked and recooked over and over again. This seem to be working for them, as new generations grow to love them. But what about the old ones who have seen it all. Nintendo is about magic, making games socially playable but there seems to miss a formula for me to make it like it more.

For the first time in my whole live, I thought of buying a PS3 because of the games, I've seen some incredible games like Metal Gear, Mass Effect, God of War.. Games that as developers say can't be run on a Nintendo console.

But as my brother picked, the Wii U won and got Black Ops II and Mass Effect 3.

have you ever guys, especially Mario fans, thought of it just for a glimpse? Did I make a great choice? Let me know.

you got the console and second guess your decision?! Nah, I love my Wii U and will be satisfied this gen with it, but as a gamer it's easy to want other games from other platforms, because your a gamer.  It's natural.

Ive been there. When I was 21 I decided to make the switch to 360. People just grow up. Nintendo will always cater to the kids first, and that's ok. We were kids once and kids of today deserve to be swept up in their games as well.

Even adults still stick around with Nintendo, but they usually have another console/PC to complement it. Im sure Ill be quoted by some sensitive person who will defend their age yet still plays Nintendo consoles primarily, but it's natural to grow out of childhood habits.

Doesn't mean you have to drop Nintendo, just get a 360 or PS3. I personally still have old Nintendo sentiments in the form of owning their handhelds, yet I have yet to buy a 3DS.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well, there is a reason that I have an Xbox 360 in addition to my Wii. Only owning an Xbox or a Wii wouldn't leave me satisfied since they complement each other to fill my gaming needs.

It almost seems as if you feel bad about thinking about how it would be to own an HD console. Staying loyal to one brand, unless financially limited, is just silly. You won't let down one side by supporting both.

If you can only afford one console though, I'd still say it's silly not to have though about switching side. Blindly following a brand simply because of its brand is never a good thing. You could always buy a PS3 and then sell it if you are disappointed just to know what you are missing.

No, but only because I'm not really on a side. I like Nintendo the most, but I'll play any game on any console if it interests me enough. Limiting yourself to just one platform is silly, you miss out on so much.

Peeps, getting both wasn't an option for him.
