Well, there is a reason that I have an Xbox 360 in addition to my Wii. Only owning an Xbox or a Wii wouldn't leave me satisfied since they complement each other to fill my gaming needs.
It almost seems as if you feel bad about thinking about how it would be to own an HD console. Staying loyal to one brand, unless financially limited, is just silly. You won't let down one side by supporting both.
If you can only afford one console though, I'd still say it's silly not to have though about switching side. Blindly following a brand simply because of its brand is never a good thing. You could always buy a PS3 and then sell it if you are disappointed just to know what you are missing.
