The greatest thing I ever did was give up on Nintendo only platforms. It is much more beneficial for you to be a platform slut and play them all. Even Android.

No Apple.

Seriously of course. Nintindo presents a very limited proportion of the great spectrum of what games are out there, you should expand like Basil when you can.

We almost all expand, but the question in OP was about a choice, he can't have both.

That is why I said do it when you can and he also asked if people wanted/thought about going beyond Nintendo.

Personally, my life is too busy to be a multiplat owner. There are already too many games to play between Nintendo's handheld and console and I'm not a FPS fan so my dilemma is pretty easy. Occasionally, Sony or even more occasionally, MS will put out a rpg that looks awesome, but that's pretty much where it ends for me. TBH, I wouldn't mind owning a Vita, I think it's a fantastic little device, but I'm also not bent on going out and buying one either.

Ah, yeah that's true.

Who are you to question between a Nintendo console and *Insert Company* Console? That's madness, madness I tell you!

Well, you apparently love Nintendo for a reason, so you made the right choice! No question about it. Nintendo will give you the games you love, it'll just take a little while - and if we're all damn lucky, Wii U might even get decent 3rd party support. But that remains to be seen (so no need to bitch about that it won't; we don't know yet).

Let me ask you this; if you would have gotten the PS3, would you still have gotten a Wii U later down the road? If the answer is yes, then I suggest you simply buy a PC in a year or two. It gets almost all of the multiplat, and even gets games consoles can't play! So PC has exclusives of its own, in a way, and with Steam Sales you can find games for dirt cheap, AND PC games are cheaper to begin with - another win. AND you can play PC games with console controlers. AND PC has some amazing backwards compatibility!! I can play games from the 90's on it :p

PS3 has quite a few exclusives that might be tempting, but if you don't care about those PC is far superior. AND it's free to go online unlike xbox.

So if you can afford two options, Wii U+PC is a winning combination! PS3 just wouldn't be right for you if you love Nintendo so much, and you can get mature games on PC as well.

And you can watch porn on both Wii U and PC. Nuff said

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I am a huge Nintendo fan and I can say you made the right choice, but for you to be convinced I would advise you to do one very very very simple thing. Go on youtube and watch Uncharted. There is a person there who took the game and cutscenes and turned it into a movie-like experience and its only about 3 hours long. Watch it. Are you blown away? Do you think that this is the future of video games? Or, do you say, eh this is a game? That will help you figure out which you prefer.

If you think that huge cutscenes and incredible graphics and games becoming more like movies are where Video games should be heading then you made the wrong choice, you should get the PS. If not, if gameplay is above all else, if you kind of miss the simpler Japanese games with no voice acting, a ton of soul and a 50 hour adventure instead of a 7 hour one.....Then I think you made the right choice.

Most Nintendo fans are fans for a very good reason. Nintendo gives something that can't be found anywhere else. With the Wii U, we know get that experience alongside great Multiplats so....Yeah, congrats on your new console.

While my love for Nintendo has waned a bit, my love for both Sony and Microsoft has waned just as much (if not moreso).

Thank god for PC gaming.

Ive been there. When I was 21 I decided to make the switch to 360. People just grow up. Nintendo will always cater to the kids first, and that's ok. We were kids once and kids of today deserve to be swept up in their games as well.

Even adults still stick around with Nintendo, but they usually have another console/PC to complement it. Im sure Ill be quoted by some sensitive person who will defend their age yet still plays Nintendo consoles primarily, but it's natural to grow out of childhood habits.

Doesn't mean you have to drop Nintendo, just get a 360 or PS3. I personally still have old Nintendo sentiments in the form of owning their handhelds, yet I have yet to buy a 3DS.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I totally agree.
