Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is silent for a reason

so nintendo is going to secure the core out from under MSony during their year head start by keeping silent of what they are doing so that the majority of their head start appears to be barren of any games let alone good games?

..nintendo really doesn't get the core if that's their plan.

By the time the PS4 and 720 launch, the assumption is that the PS4 and 720 will have little to warrant a purchase, that's the trend from the PS2, PS3, xbox and 360.

The theory is that when that time comes, what thelaststarfighter said would come true.

@JGarret. I know. But when the Wii suddenly launched what was it 6 months sooner than expected, we were happy. Then, some big games came out and we didn't have to wait much (3DLand, OoT3D, Revelations from Capcom).

It's not like we can say we know what every single team at Nintendo is doing and thus there can't be much to announce. A quick glance at their internal and external software teams to look at when they each last released a game shows some rather glaring gaps stretching as far back as 2010.

Those teams are all working on something. Even if there's a 50/50 split between 3DS and Wii U within those projects, that'd still leave plenty to announce.

VGChartz

Well we may hear something when they have their investors meeting at the end of the month. They are planning on releasing the information on the 30th, so the 31st is the meeting.

It works. Sony didn't have shit for the PS2 until the month the Gamecube and Xbox launched. When the Wii and PS3 launched, Microsoft launched a lot of heavy hitters including Gears of War. Nintendo launched Majora's Mask for the N64 the same day the PS2 released. It pays to have a strategy.

Personally, I think Nintendo is just scared.

I don't think we'll see a Zelda until 2015. Nintendo shouldn't play all cards at the start of the gen.

We'll definetly see 1 or 2 major Nintendo exclusives for the Holiday, coupled with a pricecut and new marketing.

Nintendo might be forced to take action sooner than later, rather stealing thunder away from PS4/720 it might be a battle to fight the disappointing sales.

As they should be! Microsoft and Sony are no small contenders!!

But, when Nintendo is on their A-game, watch the hell out. Amiright? :)

with every console they introduce something revolutionary we just have to wait a little longer :*(

Exactly... they did the same with the GC... oh wait

OT: probably. The question is, how much effect will that have, once the onslaught of next-gen, 3rd party games will hit the Sony/MS machines

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think Nintendo's being TOO secretive and that it's hurting them. They should at least show us ONE game that takes advantage of the graphical power of the Wii U. A hint, a tease, something to get us hyped and psyched about. Nintendo needs to learn how to build momentum.

NSMBU and NintendoLand is a great start, but they have to show us something else. Those games probably have good legs - NSMBU certainly will have - and that's because people aren't rushing out to buy the Wii U just for those games; they're complementary games you get along side other games.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Here you go, if you're interested in what Nintendo might be working on - it's a long read though; http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=153076&page=1

Nintendo should reveal something soon enough, pre-E3 that is. Otherwise sales are going to drop to Vita levels. Not far from it even such a short time from release.

To be fair, the 360 didn't have an enormous trend early on in its life. It still managed to build a nice base years 2 onwards.
