Forums - Gaming - Did you know about the original XBOX before the 360?

Of course i do. I prefer the Xbox to the PS2 still to this days. :p

Nothing from the previous generation beat Ninja Gaiden Black.

I think I was vaguely aware of its existence. But only just.

Better believe it. It was my favourite console last generation :)

How could it not be when it had Halo, Knights of the Old Republic, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Fable, and all kinds of other top-notch exclusives, in addition to the best versions of most multiplats like Splinter Cell and Star Wars Battlefront 2?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Anyone remember Otogi games. Also am i the only one who wants another Jade Empire game. My xbox came with Amped/Top Spin. Played the hell out of those games.

People who didn't know about the Xbox 360 are probably the same people who didn't know the Dreamcast existed and thought he PS2 was the only machine with video games to play. These people make me sad.

Why would they make you sad? It's not like you know everything there is to know about every hobbies in the world either.

It makes me sad because the Dreamcast had so many amazing games and deserved to be a success, but far too many ignored it and played exclusivly on PS2. The Dreamcast had the best games the year before and the year after the PS2 released but people still ignored it. Sega was forced to drop the Dreamcast and hardware alltogether and the industry is poorer for it. As for Xbox, Halo is pure gold and it's too bad that some people never got a chance to experience it in it's begining.

I edited my post prior to your comment.

Now, about Halo... I never understood why people praised it so much. To me, it was nothing really special. Technically, for a console FPS it was great. But other than that, it wasn't anything special.

The Halo series is my favorite FPS series. That's comming from a guy who has been playing FPS games since Wolfenstien and still plays Doom, Quake, Half-Life, Duke Nukem and so on. The FPS genre always keeps me comming back, it's my favorite of the action genre and Halo is my favorite. And I don't even play multiplayer, well rarely anyway. Halo is pure gameplay nirvana.

The original Xbox was awesome, and it had a better variety of games than PS2. Unless they were really young there's no way they haven't heard of Xbox.

it was a decent console other then halo 1 and 2 there really wasn't anything for and the gamecude and PS2 had far better libraries

Yeah I had both a PS2 and Xbox. PS2 was the primary console.

That's hardly true. The PS2 is where all third party devs went.

The only advantage the XBox had over the other consoles was in the FPS genre. All other game genres were represented in the other consoles, with more diversity/variety.
