The iPad is an app device with the ability to play some games. PS Vita is dedicated handheld gaming device with the ability to use apps. Vita already can use Skype calling with cam so technically its a phone.

I would never use my Vita over my iPhone.

Also, iPad doesn't just have some games, it has a lot of games. Vita also has very few apps. Also the iPad can use Skype with cam. Is that a phone?

What do you think Skype is?

Is the iPad a dedicated gaming machine that plays full games too?

I know full well what Skype is because I use it so my daughter can chat with my niece when they aren't hanging out. Either way, that doesn't mean the Vita is a phone, or that the iPad is a phone, or that my my mother's laptop is a phone. Skype does not make emergency calls, so unless you're immune to heart attacks and live in an ivory tower you still need a REAL phone.

Skype is nice, but Vita is not a phone, plus my iPhone does Skype better too since it doesn't have a terrible quality camera.

Also, yes, the iPad has FULL games. Unless you don't consider Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy VI, The World Ends With You, Bastion, FIFA 13, Squids, Ghost Trick, Zenonia, Cave (Company) games or Ravensword, which is basically Skyrim in your hands.

I didn't even need to mention Angry Birds either. In fact many of these games are also found on these "dedicated" gaming devices.

Oh yeah, and Zenonia 5 releases at midnight tonight! YAY.

Edit - Oh yeah, Heroes of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes is coming in a couple weeks too... with NEW multiplayer features!

How you like them apples?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Don't read out of context, I said it is technically a phone because you can make voice calls, and let me guess you don't need buttons for those mobile games right?  I guess old ports like from FFIII and IV is acceptable. Hmm, Zenonia gameplay is nice, just tap on a big circle to slash..

When I say full games I meant games like Soul Sacrifice, Uncharted, Ragnarok. Let me see you play that without buttons. Oh, and grats on finally getting some multiplayer features!

Sorry, maybe I did read it out of context. I thought you were arguing that the Vita w/ Skype was just as functional as an actual phone.

------------

Nope, you don't need buttons. The games play just fine. Yeah, maybe you might find games on Vita and/or 3DS that might not totally work on a touch only device without some serious gameplay changes, but that in no way supports your argument about it not having "FULL games" as there is no real criteria for what makes a game a "FULL game".

I know this quite well too in fact. I own a Vita, iPhone, Galaxy S3 and a 3DS.

Oh yeah, it has Final Fantasy Dimensions as well. So, if this button issue was such an issue, the game wouldn't keep coming. So while it may not be a dedicated gaming device, it is still in fact a gaming device.

Anyways, this is getting quite off-topic, so if you would like to continue this discussion I wouldn't mind doing it through wallposts.

I never said iPad is not a gaming device, I said and I quote again which supports my argument, "its an app device with the ability to play some games"

For the record, you're the one that brought up the whole iPad/phone discussion in your own post, and it just took you this long to partially agree with my first reply to you.

And with many rumors of a new LOZ game, Donkey Kong or even Kirby on the 3DS next year? Luigi's mansion and Animal Crossing are on the way everwhere else this year too. Nintendo's given us no reason to buy a vita.

lol,are you kidding

people who want to buy a vita surely don't care about games like kirby, animal crossing or luigis mansion(for sure the weakest of all nintendo ip's i've ever played)

I own a Vita and I care about those games. Already pre-order for Luigi's Mansion.

MR NintendoPie (I'm having trouble embeding my answers with this new text format):

What portable exclusive game could you produce, that it wouldn't be posible to better it in every concievable way for the larger format provided by HD. Bigger, more detailed Pokémons, incredibly rich landscapes in MH, super-realistic girls of AKB48 in all their barely-legal glory. You can do everything better in HD.

If you could do everything better in HD then I'm sure the public would take notice and the Vita would be selling like Wildfire. But it's not. So HD is obviously not the only selling factor for a game/system.

HERE I'll end the discussion for this thread now, the only problem of the Vita is just one small thing.......

For the record, you're the one that brought up the whole iPad/phone discussion in your own thread, and it just took you this long to partially agree with my first reply to you.

I brought up the iPad/iPhone to show why the Vita is too expensive for what it does, that was it. I could have easily brought up the iTouch to make the point even better since an iTouch costs around the same price as a Vita.

Smaller amount of apps. Smaller amount of games. Worse web browser in comparison. No onboard memory. Mobile games costing more. Similar hardware price.

There is a big problem there. That was my point.

The phone portion of it was in response to what Superchunk continues to talk about. Only I failed to quote him, although I am sure he could tell who I referring to since me and him had this conversation once before.

Also, this isn't my thread.
