I know full well what Skype is because I use it so my daughter can chat with my niece when they aren't hanging out. Either way, that doesn't mean the Vita is a phone, or that the iPad is a phone, or that my my mother's laptop is a phone. Skype does not make emergency calls, so unless you're immune to heart attacks and live in an ivory tower you still need a REAL phone.

Skype is nice, but Vita is not a phone, plus my iPhone does Skype better too since it doesn't have a terrible quality camera.

Also, yes, the iPad has FULL games. Unless you don't consider Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy VI, The World Ends With You, Bastion, FIFA 13, Squids, Ghost Trick, Zenonia, Cave (Company) games or Ravensword, which is basically Skyrim in your hands.

I didn't even need to mention Angry Birds either. In fact many of these games are also found on these "dedicated" gaming devices.

Oh yeah, and Zenonia 5 releases at midnight tonight! YAY.

Edit - Oh yeah, Heroes of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes is coming in a couple weeks too... with NEW multiplayer features!

How you like them apples?

Don't read out of context, I said it is technically a phone because you can make voice calls, and let me guess you don't need buttons for those mobile games right?  I guess old ports like from FFIII and IV is acceptable. Hmm, Zenonia gameplay is nice, just tap on a big circle to slash..

When I say full games I meant games like Soul Sacrifice, Uncharted, Ragnarok. Let me see you play that without buttons. Oh, and grats on finally getting some multiplayer features!

iPad is not a dedicated gaming device like Vita. Its like I said, an app device with the ability to play some games.

Sorry, maybe I did read it out of context. I thought you were arguing that the Vita w/ Skype was just as functional as an actual phone.

------------

Nope, you don't need buttons. The games play just fine. Yeah, maybe you might find games on Vita and/or 3DS that might not totally work on a touch only device without some serious gameplay changes, but that in no way supports your argument about it not having "FULL games" as there is no real criteria for what makes a game a "FULL game".

I know this quite well too in fact. I own a Vita, iPhone, Galaxy S3 and a 3DS.

Oh yeah, it has Final Fantasy Dimensions as well. So, if this button issue was such an issue, the game wouldn't keep coming. So while it may not be a dedicated gaming device, it is still in fact a gaming device.

Anyways, this is getting quite off-topic, so if you would like to continue this discussion I wouldn't mind doing it through wallposts.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
