Ugh. I don't car. I love my WiiU - got it at launch, loved it ever since. Still playing Wii games on it too. Awesome console with a bright future IMO.

Strange that people would think that considering Nintendo's strategy with the Wii. In fact, the Wii U released earlier in every region except Japan. So if people predicted with consideration that Nintendo would use a similar strategy as the Wii, the Wii U would actually have a small advantage.

Why would people think that. One or two data points don't make a trend. The dates were of course considered but the rumors also painted pretty pictures with september or october as release dates.


True true. One data point isn't enough for a trend. But what makes you think people expected the Wii U to release by November in all regions, considering no data points suggested as such?

I think there are already enough of that. I was only surprised by the predictions. But the others are right: the VGC-community is by far too optimistic regarding sales - for every console. As I said: we tend to laugh about Pachter, but we cannot predict any better.

On a serious note, I am taking vgc wii u numbers with a grain of salt. Waiting for ninty to say something. If it really did 2.5 then that's amazing.

I think its a bit early to start callng it a flop, but that seems to be the norm nowadays. Can't wait to see all the ps4/nextbox predictions. Or have numbers been predicted already?
