Comparing Uncharted 3 to Gears Of War 3 is ok, but comparing Halo 4 to GT5 isnt?

First Person Shooter vs Driving Sim, released 2 Years apart.

Jeez...some people take this stuff too seriously.

As I've said before, I'm comparing them because they're arguably their respective consoles flagship exclusive game. Vgchartz is a sales site...if you don't wanna talk about sales then go join Gamespot or something.



My prediction threads:

Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)

PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)

Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Halo 4 first 9 weeks sales prediction

PS4 to be down YOY in 2015

No no no.  He uses time frames and I've stated this numerous times and I have already said GT is a bigger franchise but maybe you can't read well I don't know. Using his comparison it would go something like this

Forza-2008-2013
GT - 2008 - 2013

That would be specific timelines with two series that has potential of selling very well this generation.  Not a game like Killzone that can't even out sell a game that is an expansion.  In fact Anniversary has sold similar to killzone and it is a remake.  Halo Wars has sold similar to  Killzone and it is a RTS.  This is what I've been trying to explain to you.  TIME FRAMES WITH SIMILAR SELLS.  He is using Forza 3 and Forza Horizon in the time frame since Forza 4's release date which I will agree is not fair but it does show that Forza is successful. What he should do is use a time frame from both starting dates.  For example sit Forza and GT side by side from both release dates.  

Now disreagarding everything I just said he is using a business approach to things (IP sales).  So at least understand what he is saying before making fun of him with your sig and making yourself loo childish at the same time.

And because I know you are only going to take all the bad from my comments and once again think Im agreeing with him, I DO NOT AGREE WITH HIM.  Gran Turismo is a bigger game than Forza.  Now as I said multiple times, stop quoting me.

I'm using time frames as well. I'm comparing 2 games from a specific time frame. The games being compared aren't even relevant, I just picked some random games to emphasize a point. I'm not trying to make a valid comparison at all.

I'm displaying that one game's legs versus a new releases front-loaded numbers are entirely irrelevant to the overall picture.

This case is no different from GT5/Forza comparison.

GT5 legs versus Forza brand new sales? Not a fair comparison at all.

If you can't understand this, take a basic logic course. You're defunct.

Be damn sure if GT 5 was ahead of Halo 4 it would all of a sudden be OK to compare the two.

Halo 4 is now the fastest selling FPS ever not called COD.  How on earth is that average for an FPS?  In fact please tell me how many FPS sell 7 million in their LIFETIME on one console besides Call of Duty.

I assume you consider COD sales are from another planet. I won't exclude COD at all.

If you want to judge how good Halo 4 is selling you should put it against the best in the business, which is an fps.

Consider GT5 in an era when a multiplat racer sells tons of millions each year!

Of course COD sells more its the top dog in FPS.

My point was you said Halos sales are average......which is complelty wrong.  Its the second best in the industry

Ok, you got me! I was obviously exagerrating. Now that i read that again you're right, it's way better than average.

Nevertheless, it's an excellent exclusive in an fps generation that racers struggle to stay relevant!

Halo 3 (2007) is 2 years outside my comparison window (2009-2012). But you're missing the point entirely, legs vs new game is not a valid comparison.

Compare Halo 3 + Halo 3:ODST to say Twisted Metal and you can understand why it is meaningless.
