Europe got wise.

You've been here long enough to know better then that.

Are you trying to imply something?  If I assume you are trying to warn me because you yourself are assuming something wrong from what I type, would my assumumption be right, and your assumption be wrong, or is my assumption wrong and thus my assuming of your assumption doesn't matter?

First off, the fact that you think assumption need to be made is part of the problem.  See rule 8.

You posted something that can be eaisly seen as trolling with no context to infer with.

I'm warning you to save you the moderation.  You should know better then to flamebait via vagueness.

If people want to see trolling, they will see trolling in every post regardless if it is there or not.  I fail to see why others issues should be mine too.  I typed no such thing as what you are trying to imply, was actually referring to a load of things all at once, the high price, the fact euro people pay more on top the high price, the fact it has no killer launch title, the fact that ebayers got burned in the US, the fact ebayers got burned when tried with 3DS, the fact the e-shop is terrible with content access limitations, the higher price of games compared to PS3/360 (which already more than Wii games) and many more reasonable criticisms or things to be weary of and do not require to rush out and buy the console.

In short, Europe got wise.

I've been here long enough that anyone should know if I want to say something negative about a game, or console, or company, I say it very clearly and have no issues doing it.

I have a feeling that if you had typed that up the first time around you wouldn't have received a warning.

Just posting a vague one liner like "europeans got wise" tends to rile up people as it could easily be interpreted as "wise people don't buy a WiiU" or even "you'd have to be stupid to buy a WiiU". You probably weren't trolling but your post was very similiar to posts actuall trolls post, and moderators have to treat members evenly or else trolls would point to your post to defend their own.

Holy sh!t, is that true!?

If the Master System really outsold the NES, then yeah, Europe hates Nintendo confirmed.

Master System definitely didn't outsell the NES in Europe, Master System sold ~6.8 million and NES sold ~8.5 million in Europe.

Exactly.

Though it doesn't have to be completely even, there is leeway for past behavior etc, but things still need to be noted.

That's still a lot closer then it should of been.  Though really, back then they had the same issue they apparently do with Poland. (Though not displaying Wii U's because it's a waste of display space seems like a pretty damn bogus claim when there was a whole lot of unused display space right below the Wii and Nintendo stuff....just put a shelf there.... or set the Wii U's on the ground.  Common sense really, think that guy stock guy was making stuff up.)

Nintendo didn't really focus on distribution or anything in europe... letting third parties do it all.  While sega had specific distribution channels and such.  Making sega much more attractive.

You're trolling and insulting us! Europe has always been wise! Wiser than America!

Even then Nintendo sales weren't that bad. In the 16 bit gen the Genesis sold 15M and SNES 8.6M in the "rest of the world". The actual difference in Europe should be less as the Genesis sold more in South America as well.

What killed Nintendo here was the PSX, Europe became a big market in the 5th gen and PSX sold 40M there while N64 did less than 7. N64 games had outrageous prices (some of them were well over 100$) for several reasons. People could buy 2x PSX games for the price of a single N64 game or 3-4 games from the platinum series... and that is if they bought them. PSX piracy was very popular.

Since then gaming console = Playstation in Europe until recently.

And this explains the strength of the Playstation brand here as well.

What? Seriously? You really think it's the Polish shops that hate Nintendo? Ok, think about this. There is no Nintendo Poland. The consoles are being imported by some Austrian company called Stadlbauer, so there is no support, no representatives that care about the franchise and the products and could, for example, go to a shop and negotiate some space on the shelves. There are no ads, no nothing. If I select Poland as my country of origin in my Wii, I can't play online or browse Internet - it just blocks all online features. I have to play under an Irish flag (cause online works when I select a different country!) and I find it kinda humiliating. It's not the shops that hate Nintendo. It's Nintendo that doesn't give a crap about us. And they get what they deserve. Like I said, Nintendo looks at Europe and sees UK, France and Germany. And there's a lot more to Europe than that. I mean, just look:

http://www.nintendo.pl/

What do you see in their Polish official page? A Wii and a DSi. DSi!! There is a section for 3DS, but nothing dealing with Wii U. So yeah, it's the shops. It's not Nintendo's fault, no way... They are the victims, we are just a nation of haters. Keep on believing this. Even at the bottom of the page you can see it belongs to "Nintendo GmbH", so not to a company established in Poland ("GmbH" is German for "Ltd.", Polish one is "Sp. z o.o.").

PS. We don't have Euro in Poland (thank God...). We have our own currency, Złoty. I hope it stays this way.

A much better explanation, than your photos of a shop. Yes, Nintendo lacks distribution-channels in many countries. That may or may not be explained by Nintendo 'hating' this country. You also can say, that Nintendo is a much smaller company than Sony, and has to concentrate their resources on countries with higher sales-potential. Yes I think, that the good worldwide distribution-channels are a clear pro for Sony. And without a proper representation it is much clearer, that the shops don't put much Nintendo-stuff into the shelves. The point was simply, that your photos where no good reason for your saying Nintendo is hating Poland, because Nintendo doesn't fill the shops. What you wrote here is a much better explanation. I don't think Nintendo hates Poland, it probably doesn't have the resources yet to build up representation and distribution, but it makes it much clearer, that you will have a hard time to love NIntendo in Poland. It's reasonable to avopid their products.

On the P.S.: I thought Poland has adopted the Euro. Sorry. I was aware, that the own currency is  Złoty, I paid with that years ago as  I was visiting your country. So more countries than UK, Sweden and denmark are not in the Euro-zone so far.

I didn't post these photos to whine about how Nintendo hates Poland :) I just wanted to show you how bad their distribution channels are outside of the few main European countries. I don't think Nintendo hates us, we shouldn't go to extremes so easily. Hate is a very strong emotion and they show no emotions whatsoever, they just ignore us. It is annoying and kinda hurts, but that's not what I wanted to talk about here. I think, and I hope you agree, that this does hurt their sales in Europe, since I assume other countries simmilar to Poland are treated the same way (one of the reasons we feel like "The 2nd World" ;) ). I know that treating us better wouldn't change the Wii U numbers around, but it would make them at least a bit better.

I've read that in December 2011 Sony Deutschland said they sold 3 mil PS3s in Germany. Sony Polska said early this year that they sold 0.5 mil PS3s in Poland. This score isn't something breathtaking, but it also isn't bad enough to justify ignoring us the way N does. Considering PS3 is the most expensive console and almost piracy-free, this is a very good score in a country where piracy used to be common place and isn't perceived as something really bad (though it's changing). Nintendo consoles are much cheaper, so they could sell a few hundred thousands easily, just like PS3 and X360 did. The most important thing though is the pace at which the market is developing in Poland (found interesting data about it, can post if you're interested). Getting a footing in a market that is developing very fast and will no doubt grow in the nearest future is invaluable and Nintendo is sleeping through this period over here. No doubt it will hurt them next gen more than it did this gen. I think they can lose around 1 mil in HW sales due to Poland alone next gen.

I agree about this. I was taken by the harsh words and really thought it was only about the bad representation at shops. Now it is much clearer, that this is not without reason. I don't know if Poland is too small a market for a representation (don't forget Sony sells also TV-sets, phones, computers, e-book-readers, music-players and so on, something that makes a representation more lucrative). But I agree, that this hurt sales naturally.

By the way: I can say after a look into the configuration, that it is not possible to choose polish as language at the WiiU, but it is possible to choose Poland as country. I hope that means the eShop is accessible, but I didn't try this.

I think you'll see large declines for the Wii U compared to the Wii for the equivalent time frame now that Christmas is out of the way.

Even in Japan, the latest MC/Famitsu numbers show it's now well below where the Wii was for the same week in 2006 in week-to-week sales.
