I didnt' know we could compare games like that...Nice to see U3 reached the 5m mark in roughly  half the time it took U2 to do it. Incredible growth.

Incredible bundling.

Jokes! It is pretty heavily bundled though.

So is forza, don't see you complaining about that though, plus nothing wrong with bundling a game at all.

I never said there was anything wrong with bundling, I'm just sayin that that's why it's selling so well. This is a sales site, remember?

That's true, but the game still would have reached this total, just not as quick, uncharted is a pretty big franchise.

So let me get this straight: Uncharted 1 and 2 weren't bundled? Bundling can not be used as a reason for Uncharted growing. Forza 3 and Forza 4 have been bundled, yet you don't see the growth there that Uncharted 3 is seeing over Uncharted 2.

Maybe I misread your comment ... is the questionmark behind the bundleing because you dont know or someone said it wasnt bundled ?
but uc1+2 was definitely bundled here were I live ?

but yeah the growth of uc3 is pretty amazing ...

Just noticed that Uncharted 3 should surpass Gears of War 3 in 2-3 weeks.

It's very heavily bundled. That's why it's selling what it is. Simple!

You're still missing his point. The Forza games were "heavily bundled" as well, yet don't have that type of growth.

They weren't bundled as heavily as Uncharted. Simple!

BO2 has reached around 17.9 million on XBOX and ps3

Compared to 15.7 million for BO and 19 million for MW3 over 5 weeks.

Great news for Uncharted!

Along with God of War, it´s my favorite series on the Playstation...and with numbers like that, I guess Naughty Dog will break tradition.

1. Not all PS3 games require an install. For example Black Ops 2 doesn't.(although there is an optional install to take a load off the disc drive)
2. Casuals aren't stupid. They know that the higher memory, the better. They have cell phones don't they? So its safe to assume they would want to buy whatever they think they will use up, a casual gamer who only buys 1 or 2 games a year will be fine with 12 gigs. If they want to get more serious about gaming there is always the option to upgrade the hard drive.

1. Ok i stand corrected, change that to MOST games then

2. "The hard drive is easily upgradeable, no propriatary format like Xbox 360..." By propriatary HDD means official HDD right? Do you think casuals know anything about the alternative to Sony's official retail Ps3 HDDs?

1. Nope. Many would be a word.
2. There are no "offical retail PS3 HDDs". Sony doesn't sell hard drives for PS3. So there shouldnt' be anything for consumers to be confused about.

You really don't know a lot about PS3 do you....

Lol, shows that the 360 needs a price cut. Surprisingly high Ps3 sales knowing that it was because of the re design.

The 12gb PS3 has a lot to do with the sales it is getting this holiday season. Once it is released WW, there should be a healthy increase in PS3 sales.

I don't know if the Xbox really needs to cut it's price. It is still selling very well, and it is continously making money. They may wait until the next Xbox is announced before making any changes in price.

I dont know but a 12gb ps3seems like a rip off.

It's not any more of a rip off than the 4gig Xbox 360. It's an affordable entry-level PS3. The hard drive is easily upgradeable, no propriatary format like Xbox 360...

Easily upgradable but people who would want to pay for this 12gb ps3 could possibly be just casuals. Therefore it is safe to assume that they have no idea of an unofficial alternate. Also those who will play GT5 on this model will be required to install the game. If they want to enjoy the online experience, they need to wait for a massive update. After all this, the HDD would be almost used up. Even if the casuals don't care about online, they still are able to play a limited amount of games on the HDD as the blu-ray is too slow for gaming and Ps3 games are required to be installed. Not to mention the 12gb ps3 dont really have 12gb available as the OS and some other system stuff would occupy some of the HDD at the first place.

See what I mean? Aleast in the 4gb 360 model, you are allowed to use up to 32 gb USBs. Up to 128 gb usb storage available assuming that you want to use all the ports. Plus old 360 HDDs can be fitted to the slim model. But to be fair, none of the casuals (or rather most of the casuals) are not aware of this.

I'm by no means down playing Ps3 itself, its a great system. BUT for a system that requires an install for every game in its platform and for Sony to come out with such a small HDD model. I dont think a 12gb Ps3 justifiable.

If the console is pushed toward casuals, then it is the right move. Not every game needs a mandatory install, especially when it's a casual based game. Like all move based titles. There are only a hand full of First Party titles that require an install. Hitman and call of duty don't need an install. I know it heavy based texture and Rpgs that need that mandatory install, but not all. Wonderbook and Just dance are just a few casual games that are install free.

Actually, I just saw an official HDD for PS3 on amazon last week. I think they only started to do it with the new model, quite clever of them to take a slice of that pie as so many people nowadays upgrade.

And yes, whiplash, complaining about every game requiring a mandatory install? It's like I stepped 5 years back in time! Ps3 doesn't have any games either.
