1. Not all PS3 games require an install. For example Black Ops 2 doesn't.(although there is an optional install to take a load off the disc drive)
2. Casuals aren't stupid. They know that the higher memory, the better. They have cell phones don't they? So its safe to assume they would want to buy whatever they think they will use up, a casual gamer who only buys 1 or 2 games a year will be fine with 12 gigs. If they want to get more serious about gaming there is always the option to upgrade the hard drive.

1. Ok i stand corrected, change that to MOST games then

2. "The hard drive is easily upgradeable, no propriatary format like Xbox 360..." By propriatary HDD means official HDD right? Do you think casuals know anything about the alternative to Sony's official retail Ps3 HDDs?

1. Nope. Many would be a word.
2. There are no "offical retail PS3 HDDs". Sony doesn't sell hard drives for PS3. So there shouldnt' be anything for consumers to be confused about.

You really don't know a lot about PS3 do you....
