Lol, shows that the 360 needs a price cut. Surprisingly high Ps3 sales knowing that it was because of the re design.

The 12gb PS3 has a lot to do with the sales it is getting this holiday season. Once it is released WW, there should be a healthy increase in PS3 sales.

I don't know if the Xbox really needs to cut it's price. It is still selling very well, and it is continously making money. They may wait until the next Xbox is announced before making any changes in price.

I dont know but a 12gb ps3seems like a rip off.

It's not any more of a rip off than the 4gig Xbox 360. It's an affordable entry-level PS3. The hard drive is easily upgradeable, no propriatary format like Xbox 360...

Easily upgradable but people who would want to pay for this 12gb ps3 could possibly be just casuals. Therefore it is safe to assume that they have no idea of an unofficial alternate. Also those who will play GT5 on this model will be required to install the game. If they want to enjoy the online experience, they need to wait for a massive update. After all this, the HDD would be almost used up. Even if the causals dont care about online, they still are able to play a limited amount of games on the HDD as the blu-ray is too slow for gaming and Ps3 games are required to be installed. Not to mention the 12gb ps3 dont really have 12gb available as the OS and some other system stuff would occupy some of the HDD at the first place.

See what I mean? Aleast in the 4gb 360 model, you are allowed to use up to 32 gb USBs. Up to 128 gb usb storage availabble assuming that you want to use all the ports. Plus old 360 HDDs can be fitted to the slim model. But to be fair, none of the casuals (or rather most of the causals) are not aware of this.

I'm by no means down playing Ps3 itself, its a great system. BUT for a system that requires an install for evey game in its platform and for Sony to come out with such a small HDD model. I dont think a 12gb Ps3 justifiable.

Yay!!!

Great to see the Uncharted franchise doing so well. U3 will do over 7mill lifetime, hell, U2 may get there too.

x100

Uncharted is by far my favorite series - just plat'd U2 a week or two ago.

At the risk of them OVERdoing it, I hope we haven't seen the last of Nathan Drake (he's how I imagine pezus is - especially in good looks).

But if Mario can pull off a 30 year career, I don't see why Nate can't.

It's a big franchise for Sony now, up there with GT. Next time we'll see him will be on the Orbis. I don't think they'll over use it, in console terms, I'm happy with one every two years.

1. Not all PS3 games require an install. For example Black Ops 2 doesn't.(although there is an optional install to take a load off the disc drive)
2. Casuals aren't stupid. They know that the higher memory, the better. They have cell phones don't they? So its safe to assume they would want to buy whatever they think they will use up, a casual gamer who only buys 1 or 2 games a year will be fine with 12 gigs. If they want to get more serious about gaming there is always the option to upgrade the hard drive.

1. Ok i stand corrected, change that to MOST games then

2. "The hard drive is easily upgradeable, no propriatary format like Xbox 360..." By propriatary HDD means official HDD right? Do you think casuals know anything about the alternative to Sony's official retail Ps3 HDDs?

Yay!!!

Uncharted 3 above 5.5m this week

GT5 above 8.5m

Black Ops II PS3 above 8m, 360 version almost 10m

AC3 at almost 4m on PS3, 3.5m on 360. Really a huge improvement over previous iterations!

PS3/360 versions of Far Cry 3 and Hitman will all reach a million next week. Pretty good results for them.

NFS: Most Wanted over 1m on PS3

AC3: Liberation has now sold over 580k and the abysmal CoD: BOD is over 350k already.

How big is Uncharted 3 going to become?

I didnt' know we could compare games like that...Nice to see U3 reached the 5m mark in roughly  half the time it took U2 to do it. Incredible growth.

Incredible bundling.

Jokes! It is pretty heavily bundled though.

Halo 4 should past 7m next week. Looks like it'll sell 7.4m in 2012.

Looks like I wasn't so crazy after all.

So is forza, don't see you complaining about that though, plus nothing wrong with bundling a game at all.

I never said there was anything wrong with bundling, I'm just sayin that that's why it's selling so well. This is a sales site, remember?
